[Relz] Kragenir's Death Quest 2.1 (Thread #11)

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:41 am

Oh hey... something I forgot to add regarding the bags for the Crown of Stars. I think if you mark them owned, NPCs will leave them alone. JQ Assassin Quest does this with its reward bags - not sure why, but it might be for that reason. I know they don't go randomly activating containers in the cities if you use Better Cities (BC marks them all as owned). Course, the gems will then be considered stolen, but since they technically are stolen anyway... and really, I could see some merchant looking at them and say "Oh, no, I'm not buying that!" :D It would add a small element of verisimilitude to the quest if you want to keep them for yourself and sell them.

I don't normally post "Please help me with this quest!" posts since I like to try work things out for myself or try to find the solution in some other way. But after trawling through all the previous threads I haven't found a solution so here goes:

Spoiler
I've come to the last pair of objects in the Vampire Rising quest, I've made it as far as Weatherleah and already long completed the Jermaine Brothers' quests. I talked to Guilbert about "secrets" and he said about saying that if he said the word "miracle" a miracle would happen, which was lovely and vague. I made a thorough search inside the house and searched the surrounding areas including the vegetable patch and the nearby Wayshrine to Julianos and didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I tried praying at the shrine and sleeping in the house to no effect, so I'm a bit stumped as to what I'm supposed to do next. Can anyone give me a hint? Weatherleah is along the River Ethe UL but I have the Merged-Unique-Landscapes KDQ patch so that shouldn't be a problem

You should find a new open treasure chest inside the house, on the second floor just past the stairs' landing. Inside it will be a few items. You should examine them; then one of the Jermaine brothers will either appear in the house, or come to you directly and talk with you. That will continue the quest.

I had another look:

Spoiler
There was a chest sat on top of some crates but all it contained was some ordinary Pigskin Boots, some calipers and a bowl, none of which did anything other than my character equiping the boots when I examined them. I can see no other chests on the landing or anywhere in the house, has this quest somehow become borked for me?
