Kvatch Rebuilt

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:53 pm

I've had this mod for awhile but I haven't had a chance to try it out because I'm putting off doing the main quest as long as possible. I was wondering is there any way that I can play this mod but still put off having Oblivion gates popping up all over the place? What triggers the oblivion gates popping up?

Kvatch Rebuilt is partly dependent on the Main Quest. You will need to at least complete up to and including the Battle for Castle Kvatch.

Finding Martin in Kvatch is the MQ event that triggers Oblivion Gates to start popping up. So, you'll have to deal with it to get Kvatch Rebuilt going.

I never played KR, but in theory if you break the siege at Kvatch without talking to Martin the mod should have enough to go forward without kicking off the gates. I would just try ignoring Martin and see what happens. :)

OK I'll try that. I was reading the same thing about Martin and was wondering if anybody had tried activating the mod with out opening more Oblivion gates. Guess I'll have to make a save and go try it out.

Be warned however that you cannot finish Kvatch Rebuilt without progressing the main quest further. If memory serves you will need to complete the Battle for Bruma to do anything past quest 3 of Kvatch Rebuilt.

Ah OK I didn't know things progressed in stages through out the main quest. I figured just give it time and things would be complete. I didn't see any kind of walk through for the mod.

You can bypass the Battle for Bruma check by using the console to move the Kvatch Rebuilt quest forward, this is what I do. I often have this whole quest done before I ever talk to Martin.

Here is a copy/paste from the Kvatch rebuilt site:

I've completed the gardener quest (Falling Flowers) but the next stage isn't starting no matter how long I wait!

You need to have completed the Kvatch portion of the 'Allies for Bruma' bit of the main quest, or have started the 'Defense for Bruma'. If you really don't want to do the main quest in order to progress through Kvatch Rebuilt, then you can use the console to skip this check. Move somewhere away from Kvatch, open the console and enter: SetStage KRMain04 1

Thanks for the link. I tried doing a google search for it before posting this thread and the only site I found that sounded like the official site was down. I'll check this out when i get a chance.
