Labyrinthian specific quest crash

Ok so I have just taken the Staff of Magnus. It says return to Tolfdir. I exit through two doors, as I go through the third one some bats fly through the door as I walk through it the picture freezes. I can still hear the music. I have to CTRL ALT DEL to get out of the game. I am running patch 1.1 and have used the oblivion mod thing to patch the glitch with Esbern where he will not open the door and skips through all of his speech.

i7 @ 3.8ghz
6gb DDR3 @ 1800mhx
GTX 295 running in SLI mode
Vista 64bit

I assume this has happened more than once? What "Oblivion mod thing" are you referring to specifically? You might want to try disabling that mod.

Its not a mod its something that fixed the Esbern glitch. Nothing about the gameplay has changed because of it.

I've got a crash happening in the Labyrinth, not to far in. I kill the enemy near the nirnroot, and goto check what he's holding and the game freeze's. Task manager shows the game has "not responding" and have to end task.

Does it occur every time at the same point.

I have a Labyrinthian bug to report. I went all the way to the end and killed one of the ghost mages which was containing the staff of Magnus and the NPC who has the staff. I decided to leave and get some more potions for the fight and left with one mage dead (one beam of light left containing the staff and npc). When I came back there was two beams even though one mage was still dead. I killed the remaining mage and got the staff, yet the beam from the dead mage was still active. This is just a graphical flaw, but a flaw nonetheless.

Yes, had it happen 3 times in a row. I was able to proceed through by killing that enemy and then leaving him alone and not worrying about his loot.

Here are the instructions i followed

If you don't have it, download Oblivion Mod Manager and install.

Find your skyrim's voicesixtra.bsa and open with oblivion mod manager (using the utilities button - BSA browser - Extract all once you find the file located in data of Skyrim)

Extract it into skyrims Data folder. You don't have to drop it into a sub folder.

Once its done, start it up and enjoy not having that bug.

That fixed the Esbern glitch. It is not a mod it just fixes a gamebreaking glitch in the game.
