Labyrinthian?

Post » Sat Dec 18, 2010 12:50 pm

It's one of the main dungeons you had to go to in Arena in order to find the second piece of the Staff of Chaos. It's located in Skyrim.

I hope Bethesda at least acknowledges its existence. Perhaps some ruins.

I agree. I do hope there are at least ruins of this place in Skyrim.. maybe with some unique books to read.

It'd be awesome if it was still there in all it's glory, but it's probably a bit ruined now. Since it's lore-important, I reckon that it'll be the target of some sort of quest.

I have to play Arena... If they create that dugneon on TES1, on TESV they have to recreate something.

I agree. Seeing a little bit of the old would be appealing. I still want new, but keeping some of the lore from the old games, and informing those that haven't even heard about Arena and Daggerfall would be great!

I would like to see believable 10-20 level dungeons hewn out of the rock; Preferably with large areas that are not easily found, and with (perhaps) some interesting & unexpected exit points.

It would also be nice if there were certain puzzles guarding them, where the answers are generated at run-time ~and so... unique to the savegame of the specific PC.

It seems like it would need to be in the game in some form or another. I certainly hope it will, even if it's only a tiny ruin or something. :)

It was also the title screen of Arena, so hopefully they haven't forgotten about it. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't in--Todd has even said Arena is his favorite game.

I hope that it's not a huge focus though. It made the world feel a little smaller for me that the one major dungeon we knew was in the Morrowind province in Arena, Dagoth-Ur, was also the climactic dungeon in the Morrowind game. (Though it changed a lot between the games. :))

Hope so! If the Arena map is any indication, it seems it'd be at the very center of the province?

Actually, I would hope the Labrynthian is (a) a absolue monster of a dungeon (in size and complexity, fitting its name), and (B) maybe the lair of one of the more powerful dragons. Not only make it a royal bear, but make it worth the effort.....

Wow, graphics have certainly moved on a bit haven't they

But since it is established in lore, it really needs to be in the game, even if only in ruins

Morrowind yes, it was Dagoth-Ur. In Oblivion, all you had was the http://images.uesp.net//b/b1/Arena-Map.jpg, nothing else. The action took place underneath the palace.

While we're at it, the Fortress of Ice would be nice too, although not as important.

In Arena, they showcased Dagoth-Ur from Morrowind, and Imperial City from Cyrodiil. So yes, both these locations made a comeback in later games...

I think Todd will read this thread and be like, "[censored]! We missed that Labyrinthian totally", followed by "Landscape design meeting stat!", or "Lore retcon stat!" emails following...

They'd miss out on a great opportunity if they don't add this. Elder Scrolls lore shouldn't be forgotten, just because its nearly 2 decades later.
