Lack of Daedra in 4E 201? : The Elder Scrolls Series Discussion

Not so much summoning like atronachs, but more like calling his cellphone and asking for help. Except "calling his cellphone" = dragon-shouting his name.

Already figured that much out before game came out thanks to Todd Howard...we should put spoiler tags on him sometimes...thanks for putting spoilers in any case. Summon has a variety of meanings. I did not mean to say we summoned him in the same way we do atronachs but I was not very clear. Pretty vague really.

So what's the deal with the giant door to the Shivering Isles? And Umbriel? I hear Umbriel was actually floating around Tamriel in an 'Oblivion bubble,' but how do you get a stable door to the madhouse open? You would think that, if Sheogorath ever got the crazy idea in his head to invade, he very easily could, if he wasn't so preoccupied with the Greymarch, And the Greymarch! You have an army of Daedra going around "organizing" the madhouse, what if they were to see the giant gateway to the (not quite as chaotic) Mundus?

Granted, it was only one door out in the middle of a lake. However, you still could send skirmisher squads through.

Sheogorath's portal was an invitation. Mortals go in, mortals go out, Daedra stay put. So no, no one could send skirmisher squads through, that portal was mortal only.

Pretty much this in a nutshell. It did not violate the pact of mundus. Daedra cannot pass through the portal at all. It was an open invitation to the realm of madness for mortals.

As far as Umbriel is concerned. Think of it like a loophole in the pact of mundus. Proof that TES 'gods' are not infallible in any way imo. Not that it was a big assumption they were but still. How they summoned a piece of Oblivion into Mundus idk though. Idk if we got a decent explanation about that.

Lilmoth's rogue Hist made contact with the hist-like trees on Umbriel, and transportation was arranged.

Well Martin, sealed the gates to Oblivion so they can only come if summoned.

I haven't been there yet, but I'm pretty sure there's some Dremora wandering around Dagon's shrine, as well.

They don't go into the details. Lord of souls only gave us the journal excerpts of someone who witnessed the lilmoth side of the ritual, but that person had no understanding of what was going on. Suffice it to say, it seems that Umbriel's trees can teleport the city if motivated.

I haven't been there yet, but I'm pretty sure there's some Dremora wandering around Dagon's shrine, as well.

Haven't met the other two yet but Sanguine merely convinced you to give into debauchery. How he got that mortal body, well that's another question.

Daedra walking around a shrine is pretty common. 'Darkest Darkness' mentions that there are two ways to summon. Temporarily as you do with the spells and a more permanent pact. The latter being responsible for the free-range Daedra.

I don't remember 100% as its been a few weeks since I did that Quest, but I want to say that when you actually meet

Sanguine in daedric form

in Skyrim you're not in Tamriel anymore Toto. I'll check UESP, my second character isn't quite at his quest yet in game for me to say.

EDIT: I checked UESP and it doesn't really say beyond you entering a ball of light and finding yourself in an area called the Misty Grove, but it reminded me of the area you go to in

Right, nothing's been violated. Martin only restored the status quo when it comes to Daedra, he didn't change the rules, but reinstated them.

Haskill even remarks at the opening of Shivering Isles that no compact was violated.
