People might gripe about lack of collision detection, too much like an MMO, not enough like an MMO, whatever. All of that does not matter that much to me as long as it's a fun RPG. And one if not the most important part of that is that I can make my character look the way I want.

ESO, as we have seen, already has a fantastic character creation system. However, what we haven't seen are any iconic and recognizable armors from the TES IP.

This really bugs the hell out of me. If I make a Dunmer in an Elder Scrolls Game that prides itself with offering all the provinces of Tamriel to explore and showing all the races' cultures, I expect to be able to wear their iconic armors. The http://elderscrollsonline.com/en-uk/media/concept-art/625, for example, has absolutely nothing in common with Dunmeri styles from previous games, except for the oddly shaped shield maybe. Why haven't we seen any Chitin, Bonemold, Glass, Dwarven, Mithril, Ebony, etc armor so far? Why wouldn't they show something like Skyrim's http://images.uesp.net/e/ef/SR-item-Daedric_Armor_Male.jpg to let people know that this is an Elder Scrolls game?

The ones we did see were Orcish, which seemed ... similar enough to previous games, some Elven variants which sadly lacked their distinct golden hue, and a Daedric armor in one of the latest videos, which looked nothing like Daedric seen before.

When I look at the armors we have been shown so far, the only thing that comes to mind is "that looks like a decent enough leather armor", but nothing really says "Elder Scrolls".

Does that annoy anybody else, or am I alone in this?

Well each era has it's own unique armour style, I'm pretty sure armour from the 1st era was very different to armour from the 4th era, so I expect to see a bit of variation in ESO. The fact there are styles of armour for each race is even better as it adds a great variation, I wouldn't mind seeing some familiar armour, like the Daedric armour as you mentioned, but do I want to see what I've already seen from Skyrim and Oblivion? Not really.

That looks like Ordinator armor if I've ever seen it, and is very Elder Scrolls Iconic.

And yes you even admit that the Orc and Altmer armors looks good. What do you expect, for them to roll out a gallery of all available armors? What they have shown is fantastic in art direction, and they have shown more than plenty of tidbits of Elder Scrolls "Iconic" armor.
