Lack of some races

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 1:34 am

Has anyone else noticed Skyrim is SEVERELY lacking khajiit npcs? Except the occasional Trade caravan. After playing skyrim through 30 levels i found ONE khajiit bandit. Plus if you talk to a trade caravan they say khajiit are not allowed to enter citys, but that breaks the immersion since i play a khajiit but i can enter the city. And there are no khajiit in ANY of the major citys. Does anyone else think this svcks?

Yes, the handling of most non human races in this game svcks.

People refer to you as and treat you as a Nord regardless what you are, and if they're not doing that they almost completely ignore what race you are. And they couldn't even be bothered to make head wear on beast races look halfway decent.

Minor spoilers I guess.

There are 3 caravans of 11 Khajiit total that move between two cities. You can find them outside Solitude, Dawnstar, Whiterun, Markarth, Windhelm, and Riften.

There is a Khajiit that lives in the College of Winterhold.
There is another Khajiit that lives in the lighthouse near Solitude.
There is one Khajiit that lives at a Daedric shrine in the Reach.
Of Course, M'aiq.

There are 3 in Solitude.
There is 1 working in a mine near Morthal.
1 at Darkwater Crossing.
1 at Hela's Folly.

What irritates me more is that there are no khajiit that you can marry in the vanilla game.

At least there are a few Argonians. I would have actually been offended if Bethesda left out the beast races entirely.

I kinda like J'zargo too. Oh well.

Khajiit needed their own shanty town.

Just image how awesome it would of been to have one of the towers be full of friendly Khajiit instead of bandit X.

Personally, had it been Valtheim Towers I would have literally jumped for joy.

I've run into the Khajit caravan's but I've had like 2 Khajit thieves come after me and one assassin; had another argonian assassin come after me the last time. And of course, I've run into Maiq like 3 times in vastly different places..

There is sort of a Khajiit night club mod in the works at the Nexus.

I like that there aren't a load of Khajiits and Argonians walking around. That's how it should be. Similarly, if there's ever a TES game set in Elsweyr, I don't expect to see a large amount of Nords.

Speaking of Khajiit corpses, you can find a dead Khajiit at the bottom of a waterfall near the very southeast corner of the map.

I kind of agree here. I don't LIKE their absence, but it makes sense.

Im looking forward to the demographic breakdown

I expect it will be much more like Morrowind than Ob (which spoiled us abit)

It's not the lack that bothers me, it's the total absence of Khajiit in the major cities. Yeah, they're not allowed, but why couldn't there be a Khajiit in the thieves guild?

The Argonians were meaner to me in the game and they get to live in the cities.

Gotta agree. I dont really play as non-human races but I like seeing them around. But because the...... lore, there cant be any in the cities. Why not just have them in the cities, (still have some camp out front) but whenever a Nord bumps into one, he says something rude.

That would require being able to affect the game world in any meaningful way, something I've noticed this game avoids.

Yup, even the civil war quest does nothing to the world.
