GI (Lack of) Update Today #6

Once again, I'm slightly disappointed. Nothing new, same old updates with little to no information. Ugh.

I think that gameinformer pretty much gave us all the information that they were allowed to. I think they have one more big information reveal and are probably stretching it out until the end to show it to us.

I doubt they have any big new information that we don't already know. I have enjoyed the updates but they've gotten a little old. I always get excited about them only to be let down when its just some crumby screen that you can barely see with some talk about concept art. Don't get me wrong, I think this stuff is cool but it just seems like something that should be included in maybe a collector's edition of the game. Like a "making of" dvd or something like that. I remember Todd Howard saying that when the game was announced there would be a lot to show. I'm sure that's the case but they sure aren't showing much at all. I'd just like a time-frame for when we can expect the release of any kind of new information, especially videos (of gameplay).

I think after this month we'll see a real drought in information until around e3. I hope I'm wrong.

Same old? Because these updates have been going on for so long amirite? People need to stop bickering, it's so infuriating how unappreciative some people are being. Be grateful we're even getting updates every day; I'm not sure where people are getting the idea that every single update is going to contain huge information drops, it's baffling. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, we've got 10 months to go. You'll get your information eventually.

I hope your wrong as well. But I don't think a drought of information will happen at the end of this month. I think once gameinformer exclusive is done, I am sure that Skyrims website will be up and running along with some screenshots and maybe some infprmation on the game as well...i hope.

I know. I guess I just expected to have tons of info after the announcement because of how Todd Howard said there was "a lot to show". Well, show it dang it! But what do I know. At the end of the day Bethesda is doing what is right for their company. They are masters at hyping their games, and rightfully so. Their games live up to expectations unlike Peter Moleneux's junk.

Let's not forget we have GDC, PAX and then E3 so, still loooots of time to show of Elder Scrolls and I bet will have a super bowl trailer featuring game play as many of us thought in the speculation threads before it was announced.

Maybe I'm easily pleased by only a little information, but I really enjoyed this update. The music is nice.

And we did learn something:
-A new piece of music from the game.
-A new creature (the cave troll).

Well, we got a new http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/4323/ss20110119081800.png.

As someone who's into digital art, I really liked the vid. But I still hope for some new real information.

Gi said they saw a "forest demo". Anyone think they saw riften city and maybe the city screen in the mag is riften?

That was the original screenshot (from 2009 I think) which was then painted over by the artist.

It's the background on which the concept artist in the video started drawing.

Although i feel that Beth / GI could give us (the loyal fanbase) much more info, i kind of liked this update. Interesting to see the process and it is good concept art.

I'd like to see the art back into the game as a tapestry or something like that

Astounding concept art... and the music.
Oh, the music is so great. Such a strong atmosphere. Jeremy Soule is a living legend.

Anyway, it sounds like dungeon music to me.

These updates are nice and all, better then nothing. But its more teasing then informing. Apart from the gameinformer magazine, which only some countries get, we have gotten very little information. I hope we, at least in the coming weeks, will get some information about the game itself, from gameinformer.
And that bethesda gives us some information about skills, perks etc. and some screenshots soon once gameinformer is done. Doesnt have to be much, but at least a couple of screenshots so we all at least have a chance to see what it looks like.

So, another update coming today?

http://images.uesp.net//0/03/MW-Creatures-Karstaag.jpg from Morrowind: Blood Moon.

Thats not a Frost Giant.

Wasn't Karstaag called a Frost Giant? That was a picture of Karstaag, right?

Karstaag was a Frost Giant. ;)

Wow. O_O That music actually elicited a VERY strong emotional reaction from me. I would definitely buy a soundtrack to this game. That track alone would be worth it to me. (The main theme revealed recently, which I also loved, notwithstanding.)
