Lack of videos and screens

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 4:52 pm

Anyone else find it odd we're two months away and the only footage we've seen is from the E3 videos? I know at this point with Skyrim we had seen a few different videos and walk through's. I thought and assumed the late announcement would mean loads of gameplay footage in a condensed time period.

Still a month and a half to go...I'm betting on an all out Blitz starting about 2 weeks from release.

I kind of like it, the less I know about a game before I play it, the better. One or two videos to give me a look and feel and I am good to go. And, pre-release videos all tend to be highlights of combat and explosions and other action sequences. I mean I like the combat and seek it out, but after you see somethings get killed in a video, do you need to see another one?

But, the real meat of the game is the plot and story and I don't want to know any of that. Interacting with the world and the NPCs is what brings the flavor to the game and that usually does not excite the peeps as a pre-release video.

Wish they'd just give us the closed showing footage. Something to tide us over before the "blitz"

They don't really need to release anything: enough people are already over-hyped ;P

I don't want them to release anything else. I want to forget about Fallout 4 as much as I can most days; because the more I think about it the harder the wait is... If only I had a cryo chamber to sleep in the next 47 days.

I'm fine. There's nothing they can really release that I'd be interested in seeing, aside from the story. But I'd rather they kept that hush hush.

There has been a recent spurt of "pranks" involving a video that gets to the end and before the conclusion it cuts to John Cena "professional wrestler" popping in and ruining the conclusion of whatever video you were watching. But yeah, it makes no actual sense and I guess if you haven't come across it, consider yourself lucky. I can barely get through a day without someone posting a video and pranking me haha

Yeah...I remember seeing Hulk Hogan on TV back in the..80s? and never thinking about "wrestling" again. What a joke. And those videos sound incredibly annoying! lol

Just typical internet memes, like shia's "Just do it" vid, Darude sandstorm, pepe, and jet fuel cant melt steel memes.

Dont let your memes be memes

On topic its very rare that you ever get to a games release without knowing very much about it. Typically for new IP's you absolutely don't want that kind of PR. So to be able to pull something off like this it has to be an established EP with a huge fanbase. Everybody knows roughly how fallout 4 will be, so you don't really need to put out much info out. Its a very cool tactic on their part.

My opinion on the matter is that its a pretty great experience to be in the dark for once, I mean we really don't even know much of substance of the game. I find that exciting to be able to play a game ive waited so long for and just have everything be new. Its not something you get to experience everyday.

is the best marketing campaign they could have done, they know the hype for the game is out there since ppl been asking for Fallout 4 since NV, and they didnt or at least Todd didnt want to do a lot of Marketing or that what he said =D, in a way is nice since is all a mystery

I'm enjoying the radio silence, really. I don't want to know too much ahead of time. It ruins the joy and surprise if you already know what you're in for pre-emptively. We know pretty much all we really need to know.

there wont be any "blitz" with fallout 4 and the only thing we can expect besides the rest of the SPECIAL videos is a Launch trailer. Go back to how they did it with Skyrim,The press saw was the same 30min tour of bleak falls barrow 4 times and then it was finally released to the public 1 month after it had been shown at quakecon and was leaked online into 3 10min long youtube videos.

If the game is as good as how the marketing has been done, we're in for a good ride.

Im reaching the stage now where i think i would rather wait and find things out for myself as i play, rather than have a few minutes of freaking out over all of the cool features.

In case you forgot they will never be releasing the story of what happens inside the vault. Which is the starting point and drives the story, so i'm assuming they will not reveal anything of the story at all.

Bethesda has pretty much re-written advertising with this game and what they're doing, and its WORKING phenomenally. They held off with no leaks, released a TON of video footage usually withheld for the last few weeks or on release day, are using social media to promote and drive all their advertising. essentially gaining free advertising based on the ammount of hype they created at E3. and slowly drip feeding us the perks videos along with short clips from interviews from E3. Its a brilliant strategy and will either pay off BIG time or will cause their downfall. I look forward to see what they do in the coming weeks of anticipation of release.

Because we all know what happens when a game is OVER hyped. *cough* Arkham Asylum *cough* Witcher 3 *cough* Watchdogs *cough* Destiny *cough* *cough* *cough*...

indeed tis lack of information is making people sceptical , add to that their attempts to sell us game content in the form of a season pass for a game we know nothing about , is more than just frustrating

That's the thing though, its not even on sale yet. they've just said, "hey, you can pick up all the dlc at a discounted price when the game comes out."

Nothing skeptical. Its Fallout play F3 and NV, watch the videos they released and that's all you need to know.

My advice is if you're SKEPTICAL in any way then wait for the game to come out, read some reviews watch some lets plays and make your decision to buy it then. Its not like they're forcing you to pre-order or buy a season pass.

Plus I'm not even sure where you would buy this season pass from right now anyways. To my knowledge the season pass isn't even available on steam yet. Why you gettin so worked up?

I agree with others about not needing to see more. I want to see more, but I don't need to. I kind of like the idea of not knowing much about our story line and how it is all going to work. Little hints here and there in the SPECIAL videos is good enough, and if they decide to release the footage shown at the conventions, I am kay with it. I just hope it doesn't spoil anything, which I don't think it will because if anyone had more info from that footage, I'm sure it would be out by now.
