Yes the lag is ridiculous. I have a mediocre internet connection, but deserve better than 1 bar. My bullets go through people

I'm fed up of games getting P2P instead of dedicated servers it seems. Even Brink, a game that is a complete MP focused game, has P2P on consoles.

One thing describes Crytek's handling of the issues this game has:

Totally agree. This game could have been epic in the MP! But the poor connections all around ruin the experience. It's evident from every session that more than half the players online get no more than 2 bars in their connection status!

I really enjoy this game, and I hope that something could be done about this issue...c'mon, you guys at Crytek even put in a trophy to keep people playing after 6 months, the least you could do is give us a decent server! This could blow any other shooter out of the water!!

Homefront runs like a dream online. I don't know how it was originally, because I got it when Kaos fixed it up, but right now it runs like i'd expect a game to run.

Part of me thinks that all Crytek are doing is releasing the DLC and then they'll not bother anymore. All devs have a point where they stop with the fixes... I wonder how long Crytek will carry on for.

I thought about LAG in general on the psn , and to my knowledge , there will always be some lag .
After all , if a player from Britian for instance was playing against some one in America , there is going to be a small disscrepancy of connection to servers .
after all , electricity travels at the speed of light and is constant , there for if it has to travel a longer distance it will show lag in some way or another .
It is almost impossible to make , the gaming experience from two people at two seperate distances , connected to a server , to have the exact time frame , reality does not work like that .
not unless you think we live in the 4th dimesnion .

Isn't the speed of light constant only in a vacuum? You can't forget about entropy. I would say I have a better experience with dedicated server than with p2p hosting though.

The speed of electricity is only the same as the speed of light in a vacuum with no other constants, an electromagnetic wave travels at about 65% the speed of light through a normal cable, even if thats so the speed of light is 186,000 miles a second its got nothing to do with how fast electricity travels is about the quality of the servers to deal with information and a hosts connection. I've played 2006 games with less lag then this on a dial up connection.

Basically whats happened is the ps3 is being throttled and theres why to much graphical and user input information to deal with. When devs test this game they test in over a lan in there office where the pc's are virtually next to each other. Im guessing online gaming will only be improved when everyone has a fibre optic connection and companies are actually willing to invest in dedicated servers.

Thq/koas did this with homefront and it now plays like a dream online, Its all about a devs programming skills and server connetions

Lag isnt from the game. I played a full 12 player private match with people from my city and none of us lagged at all. The problem is that not enough people play Crysis 2, so we're stuck with playing with players across the country since the matchmaking has so few to choose from. Having multiple playlists and multiple modes within each playlist would not help the situation either, since this would only segregate the community further into smaller groups. Within each game mode, they should eliminate 'fast rounds' because it just breaks the community into smaller fragments with less players to play with during matchmaking.

This latest patch has fixed nothing. Crysis 2 is becoming a chore to play.

Seems Crytek are good at making games with shiny graphics, but not good at making them work.

*Sigh* At least Homefront's working. Full of campers, but working.

Yet Crysis had one of the best MPs I have ever played? :D, they can make good games but as the other guy said we are being made to play with people across the world, which can easily be fixed by allowing region select like KZ2, so people choose there local region, making lag less of a problem. :D But the again I personally have never really had a problem with lag and I normally have 3 bars whoever the host is.

I like Crysis 2 MP as well, but the lag happens even when i'm playing people from the UK. It was their fault to go p2p instead of dedicated servers.

This latest patch hasn't fixed anything though. For starters, it's still virtually impossible to stealth kill someone online.

man Im always running 1 second behind most games on BLOPS so Im not sure if the lag is the servers or the provider, which in my case is most def. AT&T

However the Blops stopping migrating and so on is on their end even after a month down they didnt fix anything, I really havent played Cry2 multi yet but I wonder if the "lag" is the servers or like my Hot Prsuit where other cars disappear and reappear around what they were about to crash into. I think thats lag from AT&T being SLOOOOO

I have AT&T and I have been host quite a bit. My cousin has high speed cable connection and has only hosted once. I don't think internet connection has that much to do with it. I think it has more to do with the game itself. The host having to deal with everyone's armor abilities on top of the regular shooting and hit detection. It also feels as if Crytek hasn't addressed the crappy hosting of this game. They have monitored this forum and it seems they only merge threads and close offensive threads. This game isn't in the top 20 games played on xbox. I bet it isn't doing that great on PS3 either. I like the concept of this game, but they just didn't do a good job on the execution. I'm sure EA is at fault too for trying to make this cross platform.
