Lag issues?

As I've become a far more better and experienced player subtle aspects of on-line gameplay that I once was not cognizant of I now notice as glaring "glitches."

It all comes down to my ability to kill an opponent in a given time and in what situations I am killed. I have noticed several discrepancies that are getting so irritating now it makes playing on-line no fun. Let me go through them one by one :

More often than not I have to have the red dot of my reflex sight square on an enemy's upper torso and I have to lay into them with a quarter to half a clip -- this is with the Scar on Rapid fire. Contrarily, when I get killed, more often than not the opponent just puts a small burst of ammo into me, and this is when we're on unequal ground and I have the more powerful weapon.

Also, as I said above I really have to keep my aim precise for a kill, but on the other hand, in an equally matched or usually unequally matched situation where I have the more powerful weapon, the opponent just swipes their aim across me once for the kill, they zig-zag for the kill, they just shoot in my general direction or they shoot *to one of my sides, not even hitting me on the killcam.*

What's worse is that I have on many occasions taken a Rapid Fire Scar or FY-71 and unloaded half a clip into someones torso, back, or even their forehead, with my firing having a 1/2 to 1 second lead time and they don't die and usually kill me, or even sometimes turn around and kill me!

One last thing that I've noticed is that the killcam will show "glitches." For example, I'll be around a corner, with no part of my body visible ; someone will shoot at the corner and I'll die. Also, someone with kill me with a short burst of bullets when we both start firing at the same time, but the killcam shows them unloading half a clip into me. Finally, and probably most infuriating, I will unload a bullet storm directly into someone's chest while keeping my aim very accurate and precise, but I'll end up dead at the end of their gun and the killcam will show me shooting from and angle and the bullets going past them or around!

Armor mode seems to have no effect on the above and in most of the killcam shots the opponents where the "glitches" occur do not have Aim Enhance.

Obviously something is going on with lag or the ping times on the server(s) on which I play. ( Mostly DDD )
That is, either I'm lagging, or the other players are, or my frame rate is too low, or a combination of these.

Has anyone else experienced an anything like this and might someone have some advice? ( eg. my ping time to DDD CrashSite is about 110 -- should I get a Killer NIC? )

It's just, and this is so ironic, when I svcked it wasn't like this, but lately I've noticed major obvious lag eg. with people frozen in place, the "broken record" jumping and teleporting on the DDD server. It can't be a coincidence that a lot of the players are non-American ( I've seen people from Europe, Russia, South America, Japan...) and probably have high relative pings compared to the ever decreasing base of American players.

Now it's gotten out of hand and I'm getting lag-killed constantly. What should I do? Artificially inflate my ping time?

1 - Escaping a grenade by a dozen strides only to be killed by it - kill-cam shows me running on the spot, like an invisible treadmill.

2 - Taking cover from hostile fire, only to die in cover because the server didn't register my movements and I actually went nowhere.

3 - Switch from cloak to armour and quickly fire, instant suit energy drain because the server didn't register the suit mode change. - This became such a nuisance I have un-binded all cloak keys and now play 100% visible.

4 - Having the ten or so hits that kill you arrive in a split second, so you have no chance for reaction or response.

If your ping svcks but you're a decent player - use a semi-auto grendel. Besides the FY its your best chance if you're cornered, damaged, or outnumbered. And you'll find that you can turn the tables - use surprise and do enough damage quickly, and your target wont have the chance to react.

I do find it strange that you can hear the gunfire but the damage registers much later, even when your opponent lands all their hits.

When Crysis was released it was said it could not be played to its full potential due to the hardware limitations of the time.

I think the same applies here - to internet limitations.
