Lake Mead Cave

Did I miss something in there? Seemed a rather obscure location to find some Pre-War Money, two boxes of medical supplies, and a small assortment of ammunition...

Maybe someone stashed those there before the war in preparation.

I was thinking secure instead of obscure myself.

Something tells me that the skeleton surrounded by cash stuffed luggage and casino chips wasn't trying to stash anything in a secure underwater cave... just my guess.

Lake Mead didn't exist before the Hoover Dam was built. That person was supposed to be there since before Mead existed.

I just figured since it's all "out of the way" and everything that maybe there was something worthwhile in the cave, apparently not.

I think this is the cave where I found a Super Mutant Brute just swimming around.

It was there or some other water cave that also had lots of Lakelurks.

Gambling was legalized in Vegas the same year Hoover dam was started (1931)
If Hoover dam was built in the 30's and the atom bomb was not developed until the mid 40's then the dam would have been there before the war (and the cave would have been underwater). Hoover certainly could not have been built after.
Even assuming a different timeline, a structure that big could not have been built after a globally devastating war.

So this skeleton would have to be someone who was killed and dumped there along with all his stuff. My guess is the White Glove Society wanted him/her to "disappear" with all their belongings (minus the meat) so they dumped the remains there.

They should have had some sort of unique weapon down there. I found it myself while at that part in the Volare quest where you have to raise the bomber. I was just swimming around and I see it was a discovered location. Wierd spot and not much there but I guess that is fallout.

I was pissed off when I left that place after 20 minutes of searching, thinking to my self there has to be somthing cool down here, but no, nothing. I even took the time to pause the game and consult the wiki, but no, nothing. Just plain bad of them that was.

There are a lot of useless locations that seem like cool places for unique stuff to be. What pisses me off is that there are so many new weapons but only a few have unique types. In fallout 3 there were sometimes 2-3 unique versions of one type of gun. The way the map is set up with so many mountains and terrain that you can't climb and random borders pisses me off as well. It's so hard to traverse anything since you have to walk around the damn mountain to find some obscure path to find a location.
