Been looking for a little bit, but have so far been unsuccessful in finding a guide to Less Annoying Magical Experience. All i really have to work off of for this mod are the small hints at what you can do with this mod, and the rest i am left to find out for myself, when i don't really even know where to start :( if someone could please refer me to a guide/forum about this mod it would most appreciated.

something along the lines of what you posted =] more specific, i'm having a hard time figuring out how a person obtains some of the new spell types. Do they just spawn on the list of spells that you can buy from spell vendors? Most of the forums ive visited about this mod are people seeking help on getting it to work right.

It rebalances the existing spells and adds new spells. There is not a special way to acquire (most of) the spells. The spells are are added to leveled lists just like any other spells. Vendors carry them...if you use the tomes and notes plugins you can find them there too. There is not a special way to get the mod to work.

It's in the bundled readme. Depending on your configuration, J'shiv (Skingrad) is the one to go see, or take up the paper-chase quest.

What do you mean by "the spells are added to leveled lists like any other spells"? I thought all of the spells that the merchant had available to sell were always displayed, and you had to just wait till you got up to that amount of magika/skill level to buy and use them?

LAME is primarily a magic balance mod. The majority of its changes tweak the way the system works. The added spells are just icing on this delicious cake :)

Merchants' inventories are primarily stocked by leveled lists. I guess...spell lists might be a better term here. There are different spell lists that various vendors may have. LAME has added a few spells to those lists. You may not have come across a vendor with a list containing the new spells, but that seems unlikely to me.

Yeah..same as almost all of the rests of the spells in Oblivion. There may be a special spell or two added to special lists where the vendor is given all of the list's content at once, but those are few. That is normal functionality. If you want a bunch of new spells of the bat then you probably should have installed Midas Magic. LAME, as was said earlier, is a magic overhaul. Not a spell repertoire extension mod (such as MM.) It adds new spells, but nothing really crazy or completely bizarre to Oblivion. If you want fire works and big shows of color, that is not the mod to grab.

I seem to be having trouble getting this mod to work. I thought it was working for me, but i realized the slight changes i saw were from OOO which i just installed prior to LAME. When i click Create Omod to complete my omod for the 1.7 version of it on OBMM, i get a warning message that says this:

"Warning-this file contains .esp files in sub directories. It is possible that this mod has been packed in a non-standard way, or that it contains multiple versions. You may have to attach a script to this omod to tell obmm what to do with any optional esps. If you do not know how to script, copy the mod into a new folder and set it up as you'd like, then click "Add Folder" Do you wish to continue?"

Anyone else had this problem? I clicked yes, and it successfully made me an omod. But when i activate it, nothing comes up on my esp list on the left of obmm. What am i doing wrong :(

You can add as many archives, folders or loose data files as you want. Otherwise, the buttons would probably be grayed out after use...

I've finally gotten it to work, and what a mod it is! The "force push" spell is so much fun to harass citizens with :hubbahubba:
