[WIP] Lancer armor

my internet was down yesterday so I got quite some time to work on the Deep eyes armor : D Heres the result of that.

Going to test that in game today, when I rig it for the final version I will do it completly differently (and better) then I did in maya, as you can see the shorts are too high.

ninjagaidan1 : Yeah I can do that, would look pretty awsome.

Now thats completed, back to the lancer armor lol c:

so i see that the deep eyes armor just kinda kicked the lancer armor out...
ya know you should ask for donations, i would give as long as i can head to the pitt with the lancer armor

its not kicked out, I'm still working on the lancer armor. I guess I'm just amazed at the result of the Deep Eyes armor, it has to be one of the best models I've made so far. I'm sure I can make the lancer armor look just as awsome, I'll render some shots like I did with the Deep eyes one. Both these armors leave the titan armor miles behind though.

I agree, the Titan armor was good but this...this is something else :tops:

Wrong. Play Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, and then maybe we'll consider that notion.


Having played FO1/2, I can quite easily say that you're wrong. Puny earthling government who aren't powerful even by today's standards, or inter-universal conquerors with vast armies of god only knows what at their command. Only reason they're even remotely beatable on Earth is that the Xen Borderworld is their main access to our universe, and Humanity has enough knowledge of that little universe to use it to disrupt their travel. (Play Half Life 1, Opposing Force and Blueshift, then play HL2EP2, the super portal is deactivated by the same principle as the rocket in HL1, and the xen anchor beacon in Blueshift)

The Universal Union are several hundred steps above the Enclave in everyway possible.

*ahem* Great Armour Tyokio, I especially love the Deep Eyes armour as well, recently re-watched that film with my Girlfriend.

If you're ever taking requests, maybe you'd consider doing Civil Protection body armour? Maybe followed by Overwatch Soldier/Elite armour. (Difference between CP and Soldiers, is that CP are unaltered humans who willingly serve the combine, the Soldiers are transhuman [Cyborgs, essentially] and lack free will)

I was about to say, last I checked the Combine had sentient living war mechs at their disposal.... Even Frank Horrigan would not be able to take down the Striders I'm sure. Not the point of the thread though, would be a good poll though.

I'd second requesting for the Combine Civil Protection actually. Now that I think of it, that'd be easier anyways. Overwatch and Elites had funny neck protection that would probably not blend well with Fallout 3's skeleton's and animations.

forgive me if I push this over the post limit, but I just had to say both this and the deep eyes look spectacular. Unfortunately I've learned to model in maya, which I hear is not too friendly with nifs. I was hoping I could import some of my mediocre models to use for the tribal mod I've been working on.

Me too! This is something I'd use, the Deep-eyes? Not so much. It's not like it's not well done, I just don't really like the look of it. This though should look damned awesome when it's done.

He posted in the Deep Eyes thread that the Lancer is on the side until that one is finished so not abandoned but delayed.

I think this is a terrific armor but I wouldn't want to use it on my PC, looks too evil. I would however love to have high level Enclave npcs using it when I'm fighting them as that would look awesome.

I'll still downloaded either way!

well that armor was labeled by raptor1261992 as an additional request, I'm not really sold on the design of that armor really but I may give it a shot. It would have to be after I've finished this model though because 2 armors would overwhelm me.

Some parts of the model look low poly at the moment but it'll look better in the end.


That looks really amazing ... great job ....

The lancer armor has been put on the side and I have said a few times that I will complete it. Working with the deep eyes armor has taught me a great deal of things which will only make the final result of the lancer armor better. The lancer armor should actually start work very very soon again as I have completed the deep eyes armor now. The deep eyes armor was a great oppertunity to test some ideas I had to make the process easier and allow the texture to have the best result as I could. the titan armor wasn't able to get a good clean look from a 1024x1024 texture but the deep eyes armor was able to use uv maps far more efficiently then the titan armor did. Which now means that the lancer armor will also be able to use textures just as efficiently.

PROMETHEUS_ts: sure I can have a look at that.
