Land textures in grid ?!

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:34 am

Hello guys,

Here's my problem ... it's kinda annoying. I've been trying pretty much everything i knew already, but can't find the culprit. Land textures are not where they need to be and they do a "grid" effect.

See for yourself

Road stopping abruptly

Chess board!

lol ... anyway, it's annoying because even without ANY MODS, and i mean really none at all, it's still there. With this setup i installed the game, i tried to add my old archives that i add made with QTP3 redemized inside 'em and a couple of other basic textures mods, but i don't know why the game didn't took 'em. I restored ALL the back-ups, replaced the setup as they were in the archive section of the INI .. and i found myself with that, ALL OVER Cyrodiil. I also reseted a couple of times the archive invalidation with Oblivion Mod manager and it did nothing.

Could this be an INI setup ? Or would i need to reinstall the game in it's whole ? If i have to do this, will i be able to reinstall the game , without losing all my modded setup and be able to restore it without messing up my saves !?

Have a look in your INI, see if:

MaxLandscapeTextures is set to 0. If it's not, set it back.

Wow thanks man, that did it.

It was set to 1 somehow. I never touched that setting myself.... i believe this INI is haunted, since i always start the game with TLB activated and that kind of things lol !

yeah, for some reason Oblivion.ini is sometimes created with various settings missing or changed :/
