Landscape Editing Error

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:29 am

I'm having the strangest error, and i can't for the life of me figure out what's causing it.

I was editing the shore of lake mead with the landscape tool, and it looks fine in the GECK, but when I load it up in game, any water in that cell won't render- you can still swim, but the water itself is invisible. You can see the border of that cell, and in other cells it renders water fine.

If so, how would I fix it? Do I have to re-bake the LODs or something?

I don't know for sure, if so you'll have to regenerate LOD but, it may be a simple fact of checking what water source the world is using and, making sure your new source is the same.

like I said I was just making a guess. I've never seen this, is it in a custom worldspace or, vanilla?

Vanilla, at 12, 11 and 12, 12. A ways north of Bolder Beach Campgrounds

After making a backup, open your mod in FNVEdit and check to see what the GECK changed in the CELL records.

The WastelandNV worldspace has the 'Water needs adjusting' flag set. This is for the split level of water either side of the dam.
The cell records have corresponding flag 'hand changed'. Make sure the flags and heights haven't been reset to defaults.

BTW, this is a guess too :) Although I have seen the missing water issue before and traced it to those flags.

EDIT: This is the CELL record for 12,12 in FNVEdit (so you know where I'm talking about)
FalloutNV.esm \ Worldspace \ 000DA726 \ Block 0, 0 \ Sub-Block 1, 1 \ 000DDDF7

Thanks, I'll try that!

Nope, the flags are the same as in Vanilla.

Here are some pictures of the mod, pre-landscape editing (I still have a backup of that version), and post.
