I am very new here, and in CS, of course. In fact, I registered to get some help, or ideas, how to continue my mod... I mean to keep up my motivation to make that:)
So. Basically my problem is Worldspaces, and landscape creating. As you may guessed, I ran across tons of tutorials, but I still can't cope with them.
In every tutorial, everything is written, what to do. But I can't understand, why to do that. I don't like tutorials, they describe a specified task, but not the
whole thing, in my case the world creating. I am already familiar with the controls, etc. Tried out the landscape/heightmap editors, with less or more success.
So...I attempting to describe, what I want to do.
- I need a large worldspace, more precisely, a second Tamriel, with almost identical landscape, but no any buildings, items, path grids, etc. on it. Let it name Tamriel2.
- Tamriel2 needs a gateway to Tamriel, with some sort of teleport spell. From interiors, and exteriors, too.
- Tamriel2 will be completely different look, the will be no cities, a slightly altered landscape in some places. (I mean it needs a different LOD)
I tried a few things before I wrote this... I tried to clone the "Tamriel" worldspace, in hope I will not need to fiddling from start, just delete everything from Tamriel2, and ready to go.
It not worked, I cleaned out everything, but game failed, and crashed, LOD messed up, ground have "gone", I mean, the player fell down to an "another ground?", while the whole world
is looked good in CS. The esp became nearly 160MB, slow loading, etc...
Then tried to create a Child worldspace. I failed again, there were missing textures on the ground; I can see down to the void, but not fell down:) So... From this point, I began to study some
tutorials, especially in cs.elderscrolls. They were good, I learned a lot from them, most of things are clear, but there is too many darker points... Every attempts ends in a "drama", CS crashing, or I can't get the wanted results...so on.
I just wondering how Tamriel built with this... is this so hard, and complicated, or I am too weak?:S
So, anyone who have some time for this, and-or feel to help me in any way, do that, I would be grateful.
