Language Skill

I always liked the Orcish skill in Daggerfall, but now I think it can be taken to the next level for TES V. I'd really like to see (depending on the place) a language skill for the locals. I'll use Elsweyr as an example. It's likely that not all the locals would speak English or Imperial or whatever its called. Many of the tribes or hermits or even just old people who lived before Imperial control might not speak Imperial. When you spoke to them, they would say some random thing in Khajiit, and then the subtitles would say something depending on your skill. If you were a noob, it would say

.........................................

If you were decent in the language it would say:

.....village.............kill..........you.....your kin.........

If you were a master you would be fluent and it would say:

Thanks for saving our village. I won't kill you now. You and your kin are welcome here.

You get the idea. Also, considering the Empire will probably be crumbling, it is likely that many tribal villages would revolt, and if the locals saw some stranger approaching, presumably to conquer them in the name of the Empire, they might attack. If you could yield and prove you can speak some of their language, they would instead welcome you. Depending on your skill too, it could majorly affect the NPCs disposition towards you. Obviously, being the race which speaks the language would give you a skill boost. But before you go saying that a khajiit would be fluent, its possible that you forgot the language from living outside Elsweyr, or that you weren't even born there. Just food for thought.

I love this idea, like a lot... but I fear some teddy bear might slap a lock on you and tell ya to use the suggestions thread, so before they do that though, I must reiterate, I love this idea a lot.

Well it would make the Language skill actually useful and give it a reason to exist... unlike in Daggerfall.

Love the idea! But can't see that flying in the next game, I expect the next game to be as simple as the last game, newbees would hate it. I wish that they could make something like that optional or part the "hard core" playing level.

I picturing that implimented back in morrowind and that would of been awesome! It would of svcked the first time through, but that with the replay facture would of made the game even better.
