Lanius Ending

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 5:15 am

Hey there I just beat the game a second time siding with yes man this time (first time was mr house) and because I am picking up skyrim after another week I am planning to make another run through the game this time from the start with unarmed and explosives as my combat skills. I read somewhere on the forums that there's an ending to fonv where you can support 'Lanius' and I dont even know who he is. I am guessing this is related to the enclave in someway ( I think I read something on the wiki about this) So I was hoping if someone can just tell me how to find this guy without any major spoilers. Just a hint or two like go find this location or talk to x might be enough actually

'Lanius'. I am guessing this is related to the enclave in someway ( I think I read something on the wiki about this) My question is who is this guy.

Wait, how did you beat the game without finding Lanius?

He's that guy in the scary mask that you fight/talk down at the end of the battle for Hoover Dam. You can have a "Lanius ending" if you
Spoiler
kill Caesar before the battle for Hoover Dam but still side with the Legion. Lanius will become the new Caesar, and the ending slides will talk about him leading the Legion.

Spoiler

Don't kill him, let him die naturally.

That's another option, actually that's probably the better option if your doing a Legion playthrough.

If you're doing a Legion role-play (as in, play a character who actually supports the Legion) then it is not the better option, since you replace an excellent leader with an excellent war commander.

I meant the better option if you're going for a Lanius ending like the OP was, but yes, anyone who really wants to help the Legion would never want Lanius to replace Caesar.

The Legion actually has a purpose, whether people want to believe it or not.
Lanius doesn't. He's a zealot who fell in love with Mars, god of War. The result is that as a nation leader, all he does is blindly promote war without any purpose behind it.

I agree, I really wouldn't feel comfortable with Lanius leading the Legion.

Yet again, I'm not so comfortable with Edward leading it either.

Winston Churchill is the only true Caeser of the Holy Roman Empire
(cookie for you if you know what I'm referencing)

He's that guy in the awesome mask that you fight/talk down at the end of the battle for Hoover Dam.

FTFY

I looted it off him and proudly wore in the last few seconds before the game ended.

A Legate(Legatus) was equivalent to the rank of general in the Roman Empire and Lanius is latin for butcher. Legate Lanius.

Without being to spoilerisfic - Let a said great leader die from some sort of medical treatment and if you were the cause prepare for a speech check after this said great leader is dead Legat Lanius will become the new 'Caesar' and you can work with him for his ending
