Lanius

Why not take it a step further? Continue the conflict between NCR and Legion for House/Independent Vegas, whilst you quietly arrange things with the various tribes to make the area fully autonomous. Taking the equipment from Both and keeping several tactical spots constantly in dispute, Vegas would mooch from both.
No no no, i only kill the big powerful factions, the tribes will join me. I have to have some people as muscle if im going up against a Legion of savages and a republic of california right?

That's the idea. Don't hurt the powder gangers or the Khans or the Kings or the boomers. Heck don't even directly attack NCR. Instead, organize them under the table to continue the war for the next 3 years. you take supplies and equipment from both NCR and Legion, and pay the tribes. You're playing both the main factions, taunting them with the Dam, until you decide its time and destroy both.

Hmm, i could help BOTH LOL keep them at eachothers neck while i stock up on badass weapons, and then, in one strike, deal a finishing blow and get them with their pants down LOL.
You know, this playthrough is gonna be very interesting. This time im gonna kill Lanius, and any Legion scum. Oh and NCR too :D

The idea is to bide your time. Rather than take Ulysses' option of hitting the enemies with the might of the Old World, play host to both, and kill them quietly and quickly.

Its hard to play ''host'' to both, but im gonna try to get access to their safehouses at first, and then help them all, until i get to the point in the main quest where they will come after me if i work for either one of them.

youll have to sell a hell of a lot of dog tags to Aurelius of Phoenix, and then do as many quests for the NCR as you can.

Don't worry, there is plenty. But do ignore helping camp Forlorn Hope.

I have already done many NCR quests, dont worry im experienced with them. Its hard to avoid helping them. And i kinda do see alot of dead NCR everywhere so it shouldnt be hard to sell the dogtags to the Centurion fella. Soon those lucky shades will be MINE!!!

The idea is to make sure that if you are relying on NCR to make Vegas' economy blossom (which you should), you need to let the Legion exist in a form that can still rival NCR enough to keep them away from Vegas. That means saving the president, passing the speech checks for both Lanius and Oliver, and refraining from bombing either of them.

Your not understanding me.

You don't fight at Hoover dam in the way the game would have you. I am speaking of an entirely different ending.

I just said it. I would rather have an entirely new ending where the Battle Of Hoover Dam does not take place in the way it does. Instead, years pass before the battle occurs. THe war continues between Legion and NCR, with neither gaining a standing. Both sides are quietly picked off by the various independent Tribes around New Vegas, and eventually, New Vegas builds a large enough army of People and robots to take Hoover Dam and push blitzkrieg style out into NCR and Legion land.

So, basically the equivalent of bombing both sides, but it takes years to accomplish?

Nothing like a slow victory with alot of friendly losses and takes years to achieve, that gets alot of inicent people killed.

The Securitron army would easily be able to overcome NCR military (unless they sent the bulk of their army), but it might be better just to preserve all of those lives and resources and bomb both sides.

If it's true I will definitely be there. Too bad none of my friends are into fallout. One friend is but he is reluctant to try the newer First person fallouts.

Maybe its for a wider audience. Fallout is too massive to fit in a movie so they had to choose a small portion of the story for the box office.

True, true, and I guess Lanius is an interesting character, with an interesting back story. Speaking of Legion and interesting character, maybe they should have used Joshua Graham's story. hmmm Either way, a Fallout movie, IF made well, would be awesome!

LOL yea, I know what you mean. I agree, I love the whole back story and I'm eager to learn more about the Tribes etc.
