Large scale mod

Looking for reviews i have found at multiple places that states that the fan made storys related to FO are better than what we actualy get in game sometimes.

The idea is this: does anyone actualy work, want to work, want to collaboration work (even if only posting ideas on what should happen) on a large scale project that would be like a stand alone expansion more than adding to the current content.

With so many parts of the world unexplored there is infinite amount of possibilitys.

The idea behind all this is that i have large scale ideas but im no were near as good as most people on either doing things in the GECK or story.

If i didint get ideas for fresh content my best idea (aside my own very very few fresh ideas) was to try and recreate FO2 with a mod (and even then i would need help for alot of things).

Post your ideas if you feel like adding to the collective idea. If your skilled with GECK and want to work on the main project as well let me know because any help is appreciated and i know i wont be able to pull it out on my own.

For my own fresh ideas (dont kill me i dont read forums much it might have been proposed before but i didint get my idea from there):

We all know Vaults were social experiment with the common man, im sure someone was studying behind all this what was going on. My first idea was to actualy have Vaults with letters to identify them instead of numbers. They would not have giant doors and tons of rooms. It was more a presidential bunker/few rooms for one person living type of thing. You could access it by putting on a hightech dogtag that teleported you to the vault in question and when you took it off you got teleported out. (actualy did it in FO3 but kept the mod to my self mouahahah selfish me).

Leaves lots of room for content but its the best i got (see lack of creativity statement at the beginning hehehe)

Ok well thanks for your help comments suggestions. Lets see what we can do !

Everyone who knows how to mod has a backlog of their own ideas. Ideas are not the bottleneck. For an expansion-sized mod, you are contemplating at least three years of work at 20 hours a week, and that's after you're already a practiced expert at all aspects of the GECK.

I'd suggest starting where most people do: make a small vault, put some feral ghouls in it, and a cool gun as a reward at the bottom.

been there done that to be honnest. Im looking to get a community project going with the ideas the community have. Im not saying im going to slap everything togeter my self. Im saying i need a group of people either giving their ideas or working on the project actively with me to make it see the light of day.

I certainly have no intention of doing all that work by my self but i have seen people make towns entirely by them selves and if the story ideas come (even if not from someone that works actively on the project) the quest lines and towns are all tought of usualy in those ideas.

The idea is to have experts maps, interiors, npcs, dialog, meshes and textures, quests and what ever else bring their collective knowledge and expertise to make a 3 year project in considerably less time and in the end to see the largest most complete expansion mod.
