[Relz] Larger Indarys

Post » Mon Sep 07, 2009 11:20 pm

I just finished posting my first true morrowind mod; "Larger Indarys".

I thought that Indarys was quite unimposing and looked quite weak considering that I thought House Redoran was a proud and noble house and that the area was so frequently hit by ashstorms, so people might go looking for something that they couldn't find. Heck, they might just walk right past it.

Well not anymore. I have expanded the exterior of Indarys in Bal Isra and have nearly doubled the land inside the walls of the stronghold. I have modified the landscape, relocated the Manor to higher grounds, added a healer hut, a smith hut and a 1 way teleport to the gates of Ald-ruhn or Maar Gan. It is 1 way though so you still have to walk back.

Tribunal & Bloodmoon required.

(more screenshots a few posts down)

This mod IS compatible with LGNPC and any mod that changes the interior of Indarys. I have not touched any quest or NPC.
This mod IS NOT compatible with any other mods that change the exterior of anything in Bal Isra.
Note: The Landscape has been changed, so foliage might be buried under ground and/or clipping(if you use foliage mods). You must fix that yourself.

Sounds very promising, especially because I just finished my redoran character for the first time and I was kind of disappointed by the stronhold...it's more like a hut with some walls around :/
Oh PES says that the download is not or not yet available, so I guess I'll have to wait ^^
If I may suggest something, I would also like to have a temple building in Bal Isra, because Redoran always had good relationships with the temple :)
And will the buildings just spawn, or do I have to fulfill a little quest or spend some money?
Anyways, I'll download it as soon as I can ;)

Yes it is pending approval but I was looking forward to my first forum post in the mods section. ^_^

While I'm still here, I should also note that this won't add a 4th level to the stronghold. It just modifies the existing levels because I was lazy and I think it's better like that anyway. :hehe:

So yes, it will blend seamlessly because the scripts are the same as the others, I haven't added a 4th level and there are no quests, so it's just an aesthetic thing for looks.

So... how well does this mod interface with the other Great Houses? Say, if I joined House Telvanni and built up Tel Uvirith, will Indarys Manor upgrade for them as your mod dictates, or will it build up how it originally was?

It is not different at all from vanilla morrowind. You speak to the lady, she builds your stronghold just like normal.
Level 1 you will notice the Manor has been relocated and you'll also see the landscape changes.
Level 2 builds the walls and you'll see the larger courtyard, it also adds a banner and roadmarker outside.
Level 3 builds the huts you see in the screenshot.

It will be the same as normal vanilla morrowind, except it will look much cooler in my opinion.
Now the Manor is above all the other buildings instead of just tossed in the corner of this small little yard.

edit; I have beta tested this personally so I know it works.

Ah, thanks. I never planned on seeing the original IG as I heard it was lacking. (Currently playing through my first Redoran and love it, but plan on going other directions with future characters and judging from the amount of play I get in it will be a long time, if ever that I get back to another Redoran.) Definitely gonna be looking at something like this before I get to the stronghold quests. Props for making sure its LGNPC compatible.

I have noticed things that I will have to make adjustments to. Just a couple visual things. I'll get started on it once it's done pending. I also plan on possibly doing more minor landscape changes in the future. That black mark bothers me, for instance.

Also please let me know if you think I should change the gear for sale at the healer or smith. It's just stock things but maybe you want less, let me know.

edit; the next version is already done, just waiting on pending so I can zip it with the readme.

Sorry about the wait. I thought it would go through last night because I'm not really experienced with modding and such.
Here are more screenshots from in game while we wait. This is from a test game I used to fix things with. I had to go through the quests from the beginning in order to get through the stronghold, kind of skipped through a lot of LGNPC to get there too. So I'm looking forward to playing everything together for real, in a manner of speaking I haven't done that yet. Anyway, these are from in game.

Sorry about them being dark but it is not as dark once you go in game. You can use http://www.filefront.com/6896710/Gamma-Adjuster/ to turn your gamma up temporarily and see the screenshots.

It is still pending at PES but on the other hand I didn't make a WIP thread because it was so quick to make so at least we get the chance to hype up for it a day or two.

I am currently building up an storage mod for Indarys Manor. It's done already and I am just fixing it up and adding any last minute changes.
Is anybody interested in downloading this? There is already a storage mod. This is a storage mod that adds onto the left part of the Manor as you walk into the door. It adds a storage room, expands the hallway slightly and adds a training room the same size as your bedroom. There is also a level 25 trainer.

I don't want to tinkle in any other modder's cherrios so to speak but if enough people want this then I will release it separately as "Larger Indarys Manor".
But there is already an indarys storage mod on PES so if not then I will just keep this to myself which is okay too. Now that I know what I'm doing as far as building goes, I will probably do a lot of building for myself anyway..

I would, for sure the part about only the "left part of the Manor" ,can?t recall anything that I use or will use have anything there, and more space is always welcome.
Things getting more complicated at the bedroom/bar area, I could ditch centurions eventually, but there may be other mods who adds a lot from the bar area and down.
so yes definetely to added storage to the left, the rest I simply don?t know.

Okay, I will post it up then.
I added a nice big 2.00 House Redoran banner at the entrance hung by a big 2.00 rope. Big, real real big. Mucho Grande.
Just in case anyone wanders in your manor one day and wonders who's House this is.

You's in Redoran now, n'wah! OOoooOOooOoo

As another project, I was thinking of releasing a third redoran stronghold pack that turns the huts into something like ald velothi which has a small hall between the two outpost buildings. I wanted to bridge them like that and maybe connect manor services with the manor and guard tower.

But that's a bit more ambitious and will take much more time. But that's what I'm planning next.
The manor esp will be up on PES tomorrow probably.

If anyone wants to play it tonight then let me know here and I will make an early post for it with a link to mediafire.

Return to III - Morrowind
