Fully modded Laser Rifle is definetly my favourite energy weapon besides the Gauss rifles

Are we playing the same game? Laser all the way with the Laser Commander perk. In VATS and without. Almost every shot is a critical hit if not every other.

Laser.
Laser rifle+++and laser commander, and meltdown and better criticals and finesse and 10 luck. It kills things in maybe 1 shot, and is much faster than plasma.

But whats better than a laser rifle ?

Probably Laser for me - the Tri-Beam rifle is as good as anything plasma can do. Its fast, accurate, and you don't have to lead the shot. Also, the laser rifles look much cooler in first person view than the plasma ones, which look a bit bulky and cartoony, at least to me. As far as pistols are concerned, the Plasma Defender is the best one, much better than the box-with-a-trigger laser pistol.

One last thing, ash piles are much nicer to look at than green puddles of goo.

Laser gets my preference. Though there is a special place in my heart for the plasma defender and to lesser extent the plasma caster.

Laser is faster and much more accurate while plasma is slower less accurate but stronger. I prefer plasma because it can kill things faster without losing necessary ammo.

Plasma mostly because of the way they kill people in the orginals. Great animations. Still fun in FO3 and New Vegas.

Laser. Plasma is too slow for my taste, and you can't put a scope on a plasma rifle.

I don't really use energy weapons, but laser because it travels fast, its accurate and sneak attacks are devastating.
But usually use 45.-70. Gvt. Rounds to kill Deathclaws, and other powerful enemies.

I like Ash Piles more than Goo Piles because they look better.
But, I prefer a splattered head that got hit by a 45.-70. Government Round.

Lasers are more accurate, but plasma packs more of a punch. It depends on how I'm feeling at the moment.

I prefer the YCS/186 Gauss rifle over anything but the plasma rifle with the mods speeds up the projectile wich makes it a pretty sweet weapon but on a second thought ~~the gauss rifle and the plasma rifle both use microfusion cells so technically isnt the gauss rifle a plasma weapon?~~

ha so its not plasma but a magnetic field of negative energy so that concludes the days lesson on what gauss really is lol

Plasma is just too sloooooow. I can't hit crap at distance with it. At least with lasers I can hit what I aim at, and I like the no recoil scope on the laser rifle.

I like the Tri-Beam Laser Rifle and the Plasma Pistol.. so I am undecided.

Does the Gauss Rifle count as either Laser or Plasma? If so, I go with that one.
