Last Elder Scrolls game?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 6:58 pm

You know there is something caleld a plot in this game, right?

A friend and I got talking about this, actually. We theorize that witht he first four games taking place in the Third Era had one grand Story arc leading to it's end, and now we're in the Fourth Era, with the start of a new Story arc with the Aldmeri Dominion.

Given that the Aldmeri Dominion tricked two other nations into joining them, I wouldn't be suprised if the next few games go into detail of Valenwood and Elsweyr throwing off Aldmeri Influence and taking them to task.

...well, at least I hope so. Seeing Khajiit ally themselves with High elves with a case of Megalomania crushes my soul.

Bethesda Game.

ooo a full story arc following the Aldmeri Dominion... me gusta!

It doesnt have Summerset Isles, High Rock, Hammerfell, Elsewyr, Black Marsh, etc etc etc.

People ignore the older installments in the series everytime a thread like this shows up. Daggerfall took place in both Hammerfell and High Rock.
It's really not appropriate for another TES to take place in there.

I think the next game should be set on either Elsweyr or Black Marsh. Or on a border between both. Summerset is far too small.

That was 200 years ago.

Unless the Nerevarine is an Elf, they'd be dead by then. Unless Their Corprus Disease slowed their aging.

The Nerevarine does not age at all.
The only way he could have died is by being killed.

I hope they dont feel the need to add in dragons in the next game, just due to the fact they put in so much work on them for skyrim.

But how do you top dragons.
Would the next game feel lacking without them, or will we even notice they arent there if theres a new threat about ?

If they made another Elder Scrolls, other than an MMO, they would need to make a new Elder Scroll Prophecy.

Skyrim is technically the last part of the oldest and most significant prophecy foretold by the Elder Scrolls.

"Each event is preceded by Prophecy. But without the hero, there is no Event."

The prophecy of Oblivion was supposed to be the last. But it wasn't.
The Elder scrolls hold infinite knowledge.

I'm sure he/she would have had some impact on that continent. It would just be neat to explore it in any way, and having that plot tie-in would be reasonable.

So Oblivion doesn't had Werewolves so that Skyrim could have Werewolves...

Wouldn't they have stooped by Morrowind?

an arena type thing or fighting tournament (youd think nords would have something like that)
an adoring fan to knock off high places

1. Who needs to fight in an arena while there is a civil war, let alone a resistance against the almeri dominion, going on.
2. We have Cicero, Fus Do Rah, and the Throat of the World for that. Or you could lure Adrianne Avenicci up there (she's more annoying... "MY FATHER IS THE ADVISER TO THE JARL AND I ADVISE THE ADVISER HUR DURRRR").

What did they leave out? Balanced Destruction, Enchant+Smithing.

Not to mention it's been proven they can be (partially) rewritten.

The Thalmor are threatening enough.

They supposedly have enough power to even vanquish the moons, which is what they did for two years until the Khajiit from Elsweyr surrendered and joined them.
The Khajiit depend on the moons, you see.

Kinda wished they had a wider variety of weapons, but most people wouldn't use them and would be hard to balance.

Uhh, You could go to Morrowind, Cyrodiil, and Skyrim in the first game, as well. So why is it OK to revisit those, but not Hammerfell or High Rock?

Yes possibly, but what else could they add to the next Elder scrolls game? Skyrim has everything.

Actual game play, balance, challenge, reward. Just a few comes to mind.

Next would be memorable characters.
Because you know it, I know it, everyone know it, if Garrus was not in ME3, Bioware would loose about 25% sales.
I dont give a [censored] about saving the universe, its too much of a chore, I just want to know how Garrus story will end.

The Thalmor are threatening enough.

Which is why I'm hoping/placing my money on a Thalmor/Summerset Isle expansion for Skyrim.

When saying there can be no repeats you should check that you're not playing a repeat province.

Er... The prophecy of the last dragonborn and the return of dragons was mentioned in at least Morrowind, if not Daggerfall and Arena in one of the in-game books about the prophecies.

Yes, the Elder Scrolls can tell the future or even alter the past; but the prophecies that you fulfill in the games are the oldest unchanging prophecies of the Elder Scrolls, according to the lore.

Which is why the writers would have to make a new set of prophecies to be fulfilled by the player in another chapter of the series.

Arena took place in Tamriel as a whole. But it was bland. So if we had another installment in Hammerfell/High Rock, we would be revisiting the same province THRICE.

They did not add Cyrodiil, Morrowind, Argonia, Elsweyr, Hammerfell, High Rock, Valenwood, Orsinium, Akivir, Atmora, Solstheim, or Summerset Isles, so there can be at least 12 new games out after Skyrim.

I said that it's not appropriate because we would be visiting Hammerfell/High Rock thrice. Arena featured Hammerfell/High Rock, and so did Daggerfall.
Making another game in there would be silly, as much as i would like to go back there.
And Dawnstar is a freaking settlement, for crying out loud.
