Last Elder Scrolls game?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 7:33 pm

They still have a whole lot of lore on the Dwemer to exploit. They could make a game about them.

And then there's the Thalmor,too.

Elsweyr, Black Marsh, they're both unique provinces. A game situated in either of them would be great.

If anything, I think Black Marsh is a safe bet. If they happen to want to get back to the "alien" feel of Morrowind the Marsh is supposedly even weirder than Morrowind.

There's also Akavir, a whole new CONTINENT of possibilities. The Nerevarine's supposed to be there now.

I for one don't want wierd. Wierd is easy. Wierd is the reason that -- of all the TES games since Daggerfall -- Morrowind was the only one I didn't finish because I lost interest (although to be honest, the fact that the mobs became ridiculously easy was also a factor).

Going too wierd is bad as far as I'm concerned.
While Daggerfall included Hammerfell and High Rock, It also included, well Daggerfall. Furthermore it was so long ago I doubt very many current TES fans ever played it.

Daggerfall is High Rock's capital. Therefore, it's not a province.

GIVE ME A DWEMER CENTRIC ELDER SCROLLS TITLE

As much as I would love this to happen, I think it would be painful to play. I have studied the dwemer ever sience the first hour of gameplay, and in my studies I have found many things that would make me not want to have anything to do with the dwemer, dwarves or deep elves as some call them. They enslaved the snow elves and forced them to eat the horrible moss that grew in the caves which twisted them into the vile falmer of the 3rd and 4th era. They also have left many traces of their races' general personality in their ruined cities. I have concluded, through studying their architecture, robots, weapons and general history, that by modern standerds the dwemer where a very cruel and unlikeable race. If they where used as enemies it might work, but I don't know about playing as one . . . .

(Extreem role playing FTW!)

Yes possibly, but what else could they add to the next Elder scrolls game? Skyrim has everything.

It only has everything if your imagination is incapable of creating new concepts. There is so much more that can be done.

It's not the last Elder Scrolls game because the next ones already being lined up, it's going to be set in Alinor.

As much as I like Skyrim, there's a lot of room for improvement.

TES games have always suffered in the storytelling department. The downside of letting people have so much room to do whatever they want is that you can't really craft a narrative that requires focus. Things like marriage and purchasing a house are just rewards for getting rich and completing quests. You never really have roots or a backstory in the game. Again, that's a product of the wonderful width and scope of the game. I wouldn't mind a spin-off game that let players experience focused storytelling. For example, the player might have to play premade characters through story arcs that intertwined. Stuff like a farmer, knight, mage, etc. In the end, finishing the stories would unlock an open mode which let gamers create their own characters perhaps.

I also like the idea of Bethesda licensing other properties. Fallout 3 is still great to come back to again and again. I'd love to see what they could do with a property like Star Wars or any other popular brand.

In terms of TES games though, it's really a matter of what would you like to do? Have a family and lineage? Rule a city and experience that side of it? Grow up on a farm? Be a vampiric werewolf zombie dragon lich riding a black pegasus? No one will have the same answer to that.

You're forgetting that they have other places on Tamriel to cover, plus Bethesda knows that if they announced the end of the TES series there would be mass suicides world wide. Also I'm not sure what becomes of the Aldmeri Dominion at the end of the game, but if they are still around I bet that they will make an appearance in the next TES.

Could this be the last Elder scrolls game? Bethesda have added everything the fans could have possible asked for;

You know, except for the part where they completely tore the lore-heart out of the franchise after Morrowind, and have yet to put it back in..

Oh my god, how ignorant can you be? The reason Morrowind was so Lore-focused was because they would write paragraph upon paragraph on it in NPC dialogue as there weren't voices for some characters. To say how Lore filled Skyrim is they're doing great. But if you want the same Lore depth as morrowind in one game again, WITH voice actors, you're going to have to wait quite a while.

This series will never be finished before we get a Elsweyr-based game! ;) Been waiting for years for it, and no doubt I will be waiting some more!

They should remake Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. Put them all together. So you can travel to any province without loading screens. Or somehow relive the lore. Morrowind, Oblivion and eventually to Skyrim. Basically remaster every game, and somehow put them together.

Oh, my imagination
