I currently get 50fps on high and 90fps on low on Crysis Wars, using the GTX285. I do not plan on upgrading my GPU for Crysis 2, unless the recommended hardware exceeds what i already have.
my first playthrough with Crysis was with an 8800gt (performed well) it crapped out after a couple years so I dropped in a 4850. shortly after that I won a computer from a contest which included a 5870, lucky me
If I wasn't that fortunate I probably would be looking into a GTX460 at the moment, with another one to drop in down the line (they SLI so incredibly well.) this is also what i recommend to people who are upgrading/buying systems
Damn Shinanigans, I'm surprised you can remember that far back, I wish I could remember my lineup, I remember my Voodoo 2 then my voodoo 3 3000 then I can't remember anything between that and the aTI 9800 PRO 8800GT, 4850 and 5870, heh.
I forgot about my 12MB Voodoo2 card! Haha. That must've been the card i had prior to the M64. And prior to that i seem to recall an S3 Virge or something along those lines, but now you're really testing my memory
Yeah I was 16 when I snagged my Voodoo 2, but after the Voodoo 3 Im sure I had a riva tnt or something. If I recall the timeframe correctly after 3dfx basically went the way of the dodo(though really just aquired by nvidia) the only good choice was a RivaTNT and subsequent nvidia cards for some time, until ATI figured it should start trying on the consumer level.
Been using the same rig for almost four years now, but I've only gone through a few graphics cards, as I've overclocked them all
History: 8500 GT EVGA Overclocked 8800GT Then I bought Orange Edition fan slot from them, made the 8800 dual slot Finally I bought a EVGA Overclocked Orange Edition, and they have been in SLI for 2 1/2 years
I'm not planning on upgrading my GPU for Crysis 2 until AMD's Bulldozer socket comes out and I can get a good 3.0 usb case
This new Radeon is damned amazing. I haven't had a problem with anything yet. I can even play Crysis in 1080p at very high and the frames don't drop below an unplayable level.
Me ive just had a desktop with no proper graphics card, then a dell studio 1555 laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 which i ran crysis on medium settings with roughly 35fps.
Im looking forward to the lower system requirements with better graphics in crysis 2 because i cant afford a better rig at the moment.
