Hello everybody! This is infact, my first fanfic posted on these forums. Actually, it is my first post on these forums. Please point out any mistakes I have made and please comment ( but go easy on me, ok? ) Also, please note I am only 13, so I'm still learning to write.

Now lets go!

Chapter 1.
Anchorage Cliffs
November 3rd, 2066
Around midnight

Johannes covered himself around the fire, which was unfortunately dying. He managed to get enough heat to keep his fingers from snapping off. One of the squad members, Baltimore, Balto for short, paced himself around the campsite oblivious to the coldness of the Alaskan night, the snowy ground crunching beneath his feet. Balto was easily disturbed, but the look on his face signaled disgust. Of course, Pvt. Johannes remained emotionless like he always did.

"We have to go back for Sam, guys!" Balto yelled abruptly, making Johannes flinch and nearly fall out of his seating. This was a bad move on all the soldier's case.

Luckily, Srg. Warren managed to put his frosty hand over Balto's mouth before he utter another word.

"Quiet!" Whispered Warren, sounding unimaginably harsh for a low-tone statement. "You're going to make those commies find our camp if you don't be quiet!" After the words spoken, Warren released his grips on Baltimore's balaclava, causing him to embarrassingly walk back near the fire and sit down on a blunt rock, staring to the ground. Johannes, who took a short glance at Balto, then took out his flint and tried his best to relight the fire with the few last bits of firewood.

Warren had inspected the area near the camp for any Chinese Soldiers attracted by the noise. He set his attention over the rocky surface surrounding the north side of the area, scanning for any sign of hostiles, So far, none. He walked back towards Johannes and Balto in a apathetic motion.

"No commies tracking us, luckily."

Balto's silence ended. "So what now, sarge?"

"Escape.." Johannes commonly spoke in oneliners, most of the time.

"Exactly, we need to find some way to get out of the area and back to base." He turned his head to Baltimore, "What's your ammo count?"

Balto reached into one of the belt pockets wrapped around the waist of his Winterized Combat Armor. "Let's see here, 3 drums counting the one in my shotgun. And... 4 clips of 10mm."

Warren turned his head over to Johannes, who successfully finished relighting the fire. "How much for you soldier?"

"Enough, sir."

"Good, we'll see if we can contact base tomorrow, Balto, you guard campsite first. Wake me up in 2 hours."

"Yes, Sir!" Balto smartly saluted his squad leader.

Johannes and Warren went into the makeshift tent made of pieces of sheet metal and some frosty grass, Balto set the last few frag mines at the bottom of the stairs leading to a catwalk. He went back over to the fire and started to heat up a can of Pork n' Beans. After the series of guarding finished rotating throughout the night. It was finally sun rise. Balto and Warren stammered out of their small makeshift tents. Luckily, it didn't snow, meaning that they was able to heat up the last bits of food they had from the disappearing fire.

Johannes never really liked a heap of pork n' beans, but he needed as much energy in case of a Plan B. After breakfast Warren acquired his short-wave radio out of the squad's holding rucksack and attempted communication with any squads in the area, or hopefully manage to contact base. It was useless, Chinese had blocked radio waves in their area. The last resort was in effect, escape the area and return to base. And that is what they are going to do, escape at all costs.

"Sh--" cursed Balto.

End chapter 1.

Nice story! But their is alot of mistakes, a few grammar and punctuation issues. Do you Microsoft Word? It could easily counter it. Anyhow, welcome to the forums :goodjob: I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
