Last words of Hans the Fox

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:33 pm

My chest… it’s on fire, arghhhh I can’t hear the beat anymore [fragment lost]
Know my sacrifice, know our sacrifice.
The knowledge to escape is yours… but knowledge will not be enough for my children.
My body burns into ash time and time again, you will feel what I feel so that you could [become]
Feel the father’s love, feel the love through pain [sundering] of myself.
This won’t be enough… no, for you must finally see.
Envision the knowledge and the feeling to uphold the world
See what I have seen upon the edge of us all through my brother, who is [fragment lost] towering above us all, it is you, it is me and it is everything I wish to become.

IN OTHER NEWS: Five-party TalOS-disarmament talks hosted at Direnni tower have stalled again when the Stormcloak delegate set the meeting chamber on fire, citing his concerns that the Thalmor delegate was attempting to steal his soul. Film at eleven.

Blame MK for it. He's the only TES writer I've ever seen that uses bracketed vagaries.

e.g.

[NUMINIT][untranslatable][fragment lost] etc.

Just read "A Type of Zero Still to Be Discovered". Seems like every sentence has something bracketed.

I've been using it thanks to MK to translate a wholly alien creature who for the first time is trying to express his thoughts in English. But conscious stylistic decisions aside, yes, but it's fanfiction, it's basically recreative fiction in the first place.

Silly silly Mehrunes Dagon! If you wanna translate alien thoughts, you use <>. Duh! <> are like twice as cryptic-looking. You'll be sure to convince your readers that you are a genius. The more crazy ways you use punctuation the smarter you are. It's a scientific fact.

No, no, no. <> is for telepathy or translated foreign languages. Geez! It's like you don't know the Enlgish language.

Eh, screw it, that typo's funnier if left in.

I thought telepathy was italicized. Whatever...

On an OP note, was Hans the Fox a Shezzarine?

Also during the Late Merethic Era the legendary immortal hero, warrior, sorceror, and king variously known as Pelinal Whitestrake, Harrald Hairy Breeks, Ysmir, Hans the Fox, etc., wandered Tamriel, gathering armies, conquering lands, ruling, then abandoning his kingdoms to wander again. - http://www.imperial-library.info/content/oblivion-timeline-series

It's basically a setup for Tamriel : Total War.

<> is particularly useful for rendering the memetic tokens of the Exem El, servants of Hermaeus Mora who tend fragments of semi-structured knowledge.

I think at some point, we all agreed that Pelinal was a PC, given the way he bulldozes civilizations with uber spells and kills the "good guys" just as much as the "bad guys".

And if you abandon it completely, your perceived mastery will know no bounds. See: Cormac McCarthy.

Or you can screw with it so much that punctuation becomes a language of its own. See: E.E. Cummings.
