Late Night Skyrim

Post » Sat Sep 24, 2011 10:44 am

As a father of 2 kids, I plan on playing Skyrim after they have gone to bed.
I want to experience everything this game has to offer. That includes the great audio.

Can anyone recommend a good set of surround sound headphones? Price is not an issue.
Thanks for any recommendations.

Bought mine 7 months ago for 79 euro (probably a lot cheaper now), never wore any better.

PC or console?

If happens to be PS3, Turtle Beach headphones are amazing.

Triton headsets are supposed to be pretty good, and I believe they have a model for about $80.

I have those and they are GREAT. Expensive, but well worth the price.

I'm pretty happy with my Turtle Beach headset. Granted, there are better surround-sound headphones out there, but most are over $200.

Triton headsets are terrible quality when it comes to hardware and assembly they get a D- in my book. I bought the AX Pro's for $160 and I will never work with that company again.

Well if your just looking for some amazing audio for single player games like skyrim that have amazing sound design and soundtrack pay no attention to gaming headphones like turtle beach or steelseries.

If price is not a problem, you could easily spend over $1,000 on some good headphones. I currently use Sennheiser HD 595. Great headphones at only $175. If you want to go higher and have a pc, you could go for the Sennheiser HD 650. Those can easily run up to $350-400. I'd only recommend those if you have or are willing to purchase a really good soundcard and maybe an amp.

I can recommend some others if you like. It just depends on how far your willing to go with it. Just do not purchase a gaming headset if your only looking to use it in single player games/modes.

Not a headphone suggestion, but more a user suggestion.
Don't have too high volume for too long time when using headphones. It can easier cause tinnitus, which is something you'll regret for the rest of your life.

I would suggest going to headroom.com. They have a large selection, give deent reviews and provide specs. Find what you think you would like and look for the best price. I am a fan of Sennheiser personally.
