So I bought FO3:NV off Steam, installed no problem loaded up and I noticed the resolution appeared to be attempting to run in 4:3 for some reason so I was like oh I'll just fix that in display settings. Well theres no resolution choice in Display settings IN game so I exited out of the game and figured I'd set it at the Launcher settings options.

After this, every attempt to start the launcher has caused the launcher to error. The image comes up then Windows tells me the program has errored and has to be closed. I've attempted to launch the game from Steam and also attempted to directly launch the Launcher from the steam directory the game is in and I've attempted to just launch the FalloutNV.exe directly and the launcher image comes up every time and crashes.

Not a good first impression. Anyone else seen this? I used search for "launcher error" in this forum and got nothing back.

Happened to me, how i fixed it was that i used steam to verify integrity of game cache, if you donno how to do that, right click fallout new vegas - right click - click properties - tab to local files - then click verify integrity of game cache. hoped that helped

This happened to me and, being a user of steam for years, I automatically just verified the files and was happy it worked. The problem is that I have to verify the game cache every single time I want to play the game. It only takes a couple minutes on my computer, but it is still annoying. Hopefully there will be a patch soon.
