I'm trying to acess my options on the Launcher but the launcher won't even start. I keep gettign this messege

The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.


I tried reinstalling the game and still got the same result can anyone help me?


Also is there an alternative way to acess the options menu to change it for lower end settings. I usually have to do this around the time I do Take It Back but because of the aforementioned problem i can't do so.

I believe that the application in question is something besides the game itself, such as the Microsoft C++ Runtime program, or Net Frameowrk, whichever part of that is needed. Vist the MS Updates pages and see what it offers you for your system (neither of these are considered "Security / Must Have" items. They will be among the Optional Updates.

If that was a correct guess, you visit Microsoft, and from their "downloads" pages, find the appropriate C++ Runtime libraries to get copies of and install (I cannot confirm the version). I thought they were still using the 2005 set, but someone here says otherwise, it's supposed to be a 2008 version (?) and looking at the DVDs, I don't see any obvious copies of it coming with the games themselves this time.

(Added Note in Edit: if the complaint is referring to Net Framework, I have no idea which one is needed. Again, let the MS Updates Pages suggest some optional items.)

I did install the 2010 set and nothing.
