Is my lawful neutral justified for breaking the laws?

I was wondering. My character is lawful neutral lives with laws and honor. Though he wont live by the letter of the law all time, and when his higher morals are offended he will change momentarily.

Examples. -I dont like dirty fighting, but you are 10 and i am one, and i have to protect myself so i will use all my strength to do it.

- I dont lie, but the jarl has me on a conversation where telling the blind truth like lawful stupid will get me in trouble and also give the wrong impression. Therefore i keep something secret or avoid a terrible explanation. I wont go ahead and make a creative lie, just cut the conversation.

It′s usually a scale, right? Even in D&D, a couple unlawful actions won′t undo a lifetime of lawfulless, unless they′re really drastic. Especially while you′re lying to stay neutral (instead of trying to be good or evil outright), I′m sure it′s perfectly justified.

Characters can also evolve in their moral standing; I find that if you have a clear background story in your head, with facts that determine his past and initial stance, it′s very interesting to see the character changing, as long as you′re faced with events that believably could make a person change.
