layout testing

Post » Sun Oct 03, 2010 3:32 pm

hello there. once again im having some troubles at GECK. im creating a vault layout but, when i want to test the map, i enter the game type "coc (mapname)" and i spawn at some bad startpoints like, inside of a wall or in other place that i cant quit. is there any way to mark a startpoint that i allways will start there? independent of the changes i make on map?

tkx for attention.

Place a >Static >COCMarkerHeading

ok, that should work... but the coc marker does not appear anywhere. it just appeared one time, but i had to delete it because of its positon and because it is invisible. after that it dont even appear at the cellview window at the layout objects

thanks

Try selecting a random object, anything in the level. Hitting Control+D to duplicate it, then Control+F to replace it, then find CoCMarkerHeading in the drop down and select Ok. Then it should be there.

Did you turn your 'markers' off? Press the 'M' key once.
You don't need to delete it because of its 'position'. You can move it in the GECK.

That may or may not work. I have had an issue with it where when you place the coc marker it simply does not render it, reloading, hitting A a bunch, and making sure markers are on dont help. I think its just an issue with the geck. It does not do it all the time, but does sometimes, independant of cell or location your trying to do it in.

If you use the toolbar >View >Show/Hide Window
If you turn markers off in there, the GECK can get confused.

Make sure Markers are turned on in the Show/Hide Window.
Make sure >View >Markers has a check box in front of it.

Close down the GECK and reload it.
Check the above again to make sure they are visible.

This 'should' fix the problem.
