Lazarus Grenade

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 4:40 am

At the moment I am a level 15 on the PS3 version of Brink and I personally love being a medic. In multiplayer mode I've seen many of my teammates at times incapacitated in a group, and i would dispense revive syringes like crazy or i would give them improved health boosts while they're alive and etc. to help the team. Anyway once I reach level rank 5 the first ability i would like to purchase is the Lazarus grenade because I think it would be cool reviving a whole group of allies at once. The question I have is how effective is Lazarus Grenade and how much of a radius does it cover? So far I've yet to see it used in multiplayer.

Not sure, but I do know that you haven't been seeing it because you're probably just playing with people your own rank.

I personally love it. I cant tell you the exact radius but usually groups die at choke or mission points, is this case one Lazarus i usually enough to rezz them.
Definately worth it.

Interesting, well it seems like I'll have to double my efforts to get to rank 5 to find out lol.

If even two people are dead next to each other, lazarus grenade will end up taking one less supply pip to rez them both than normal rezzing would, so yea... it's awesome.

Works the same way as other unique grenades - you have it assigned as an ability, and when you press the ability button it replaces your frag.

So yes, you'll have to swap something else out.

how do you assign abilities to the buttons (1-3) or will it deselect one automatically?

Abilities are automatically assigned to buttons 1-4
If you select, as an example, 3 for Lazarus Grenade, then use the Grenade key, you will throw a Lazarus instead of a normal Grenade.
If you change oppinion and want to use a normal grenade instead you can deselect the Lazarus by pressing 3 again.

Works that way with all grenades etc.

He's wrong, you only get 3 active abilities, not 4. You can reassign them in the abilities menu if you look on the bottom right of the screen and follow the instructions there. I don't quite remember how it works since I've only done it once so far.

If you have 3 active abilities already and dont manage your skills after you take laz nade, it will replace whatever is in slot one.

Its a very useful skill, but its worth mentioning that anyone revived by the laz nade doesn't get as much health as when they are revived by syringe.

My fraps isn't working right now, but its not that great! After you throw it, a purple-ish blue cloud covers a pretty small range and the players touched by it chose when to get up themselves, like normal revivals! I haven't been revived by a laz nade yet but i've throw quite a bit, sometimes the incapped players die, i'm just assuming they get to pick when to get back up

But it cost 1 pip to revive them compared to around 3 syringes.

I have it, but sorry, no videos. It is damn awesome, has a great radius and you don't need to be within 5m to toss it. Just got 12k XP playing a Medium Medic, next closest in the entire game was 6k.

I've a question - I'm only level 17 so I wouldn't know - Are you given a choice to revive, or are you revived automatically with Laz nades?

I've only used it on people, but they appear to get up faster than if you throw them syringes. So... maybe its automatic?

Also, you get 100xp for hitting someone with a Laz and 100 points for the revive. Hitting a group is an XP mine.

Because of the throw you can nail people from a mile away with it. I was running Medic/Sniper from the objective I was guarding, ultimate support guy.

Cool! Well i'm almost at level 20, so the lazarus will be the first thing i get once i reach rank 5. From you've been saying about it, it sounds pretty awesome. It also sounds like the ultimate medic device because it rezzes so many people yet only takes one pip to use. It would seem even better if you have those supply upgrades.
