Well, I figured there must be some conflict with my firewall so I opened up all the ports listed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\Support\readme.txt . Unfortunately that didn't seem to do anything and when I logged into multiplayer I still got "NAT type moderate" as well as "Rank information currently unavailable" when I clicked "service record."
So, I ran a packet dump using Wireshark to see if traffic was getting through the necessary ports and I got some really strange results. It looks like all the incoming requests are OK but when Crysis 2 responds, via UDP or TCP no matter what the port, the checksum of the outgoing packet it bad. That could certainly be grounds for the stats servers not receiving my rank information.
Anyway, next I called EA tech support and told them about this upon which I got transferred to "level 2" support. The support rep seemed to ignore my statements about C2 sending out bad packets but instead insisted on me running a lame tool called UOTrace. All this does is do a traceroute from my machine to easo.ea.com or to master.gamespy.com and then ping all the intermediate hops repeatedly to find the min, max and average ping time for each hop. I can't see what help this can be.
Right now I am still waiting for an e-mail from EA.
From my experience with them, it doesn't look good.
