Do leaderboards matter in a game?

Do leaderboards matter in a game? well here are my thoughts on the Leaderboards and how to truly judge the better players, this commentary took me an age to get right. Its complex and it's hard to express to you guys what I'm thinking without having a full conversion but I gave it my best shot.

Leaderboards don't show how good the player is at all. It's possible to boost the stats with squads, OP loadouts, fighting againts noobs etc. while someone might be "forced" to be unable to play well due to his/her connection and location. It's much harder for someone from Australia or Japan to have a "good" K/D or W/L when compared to players from Europe or US.

And that's why I honestly wish stats like K/D, W/L, Damage dealt/taken, highest killing streak and other stuff wouldn't be shown at all. It just ruins the game since it affects some players' way of playing. :/

I disagree with the reasoning of the post. Stats in Crysis 3 give an indication of experience in the game.

When I go into a server and see that I am pitched up against 3 x lvl 50 then I know I am in for a battle and could get owned. When I see that I am up against 3 x lvl 5 then I know I can usually own them. So there is some reflection of how good a player you are by your lvl and stats.

I think that the automatch in Crysis 3 doesn't work like other games (Company of Heroes for instance) where the automatching seems to be completely random and not based upon lvls.

I think that Crysis 3 is a brilliant game and outshines BF3/BF4 easily. I am very surprised that more people do not play it.

Yeah. I have nothing againts fun stats (nor ranks) but anything what encourages players to play like tryhards should just be removed. It's fun to check how many groin shots or pole kills someone has or what is their preferred module or weapon.

Leaderbords are pointless, because I can still see people from the 1st page of some leaderboards, running around with a rhino + 2-3 pals squaded up. You wanna know why this game doesnt attract more new players? Because of people like that. Why use the most op weapon if you call yourself a beast? The matchmaking is a joke, it often puts me against 2,3,4 lvl 50 reboots, while Im in a team of lvl 1-30. It doesnt bother me but it sure as hell bothers people new to the game. Some elites, pfff.

Too true, a friend of mine from my Team/Clan is from Australia and is a good player, but is constantly on one red bar.

Then in that case give them a taste of their own medicine. Some rhino fool called me a noob for doing well against him with a takedown while he went 36/4. in the next match I took my rhino and oblitirated him 12/0 at the 7 min to go mark (he was 4/7). 2 mins later he rage quit, caused a migration (by which time I was at 26/3) I then just went back to my fy (there was no point in bullying all the normal players) and finished 42/5. Then I immediately left the lobby so that I give the others an chance and so that I don't get hate mail.

I have a friend from Russia and he lives quite close to Finland. The game still loves to put him to unfair matches. Like seriously, the game literally always puts him to Japanese lobbies. It's just sad to see him try to play the game with insane lag without any good way to play the game properly. :(

I pretty much think the Leaderoards meant something a long time ago when the game was active, I don't think the leaderboads mean jack now, high level reboots don't stay in the lobby at all as soon as they see other good players.

All people do is kill farm and boost, makes me sick to my teeth

All I play now is custom games with the subscribers and community.

*Six man squad arrives to a lobby*
*Sees Walka*
Nope.avi
*Leaves*

It's hilarious to see how the matchmaking puts the same player back to the lobby and sad to see players avoid each other. It's understandable for those who aren't good at the game but when a "pro" leaves because of another "pro", it's just sad.

Big problem is that people don't want to be on Youtube been destroyed, especially big players and clan. They ask me to delete the gameplay and I have no choice but to do so.

My troll sense would tell to save all those of those messages and make a loooong montage about them. It would be too difficult for me to not do that if I frequently uploaded videos. xD

Its kinda funny seeing "elite" players dashboard when you kill them 2-3 times in a row, but if they kill you 2-3 times in a row, no dashboard, funny people.

Gotta love those guys with 7-8 K/D Ratios they think they better than everyone else because of a freaken number.

Those guys never stay in a lobby nor interested in playing custom games nor clan battles, there egos revolve around their K/D Ratio.

I sometimes compare my stat's to theirs and laugh at there 2-3 Psychos kills.

Overall they have pretty poor stats bad W/L Ratios and Average life and other Multi Kills.

It is very easy to make someone like that rage quit. You just send them a message with a subject line that reads 'NOOB' and they will leave.

It's even funnier when you look at what weapons they use. They have a lot of kills with Scar, Feline, Grendel, Rhino and M.I.K.E but some of them haven't even touched anything else. Talk about playing in easy-mode.

At least the boosting isn't as bad as in the PS3 community of Section 8 Prejudice (yet). Majority of the players stacked againts bots, boosted with no-skill loadouts and either quit or went even further with broken loadouts. It wasn't rare to see 3-7 Generals fight againts as many - or even less - newbies. Or in my clan's version, see two-three Generals fight againts ten Generals and newbies. xD
