Hi everyone,

I was #9 world wide on Killzone 3, but because of a glitch (Double XP unlimited with a voucher) that Guerilla Game isn't able to resolve, I preferred to stop playing because I didn't have this glitch & I had to playing 2 times more than them & I didn't find it just.

So, I wonder if there will be a world ranking & games "bodycount" only.

I'd an answer quick & easy for know if I pre-order Brink or not.

The Scoreboard does not rank kills, as objectives and teammwork should be more important. There has been no word on Global leaderboards, however.



For some people, it does. E-Peen and all. It's also nice to be high-ranking, but being the best killer in an aggressively objective-based game shows you are missing the point of the entire game.

There are no global leaderboards to encourage teamplay, rather than lone-wolfing. People become too obsessed by their stats.

An online game without leaderboard... I'm on PS3.

It also has less bullet damage, no One hit KO's, you get fewer xp for killing than for helping your team. This isn't just an average game that follows everything that's mainstream.

a bit less agressive but same thoughts on L4D,
L4D you die if you leave your team ,this you just simply don't earn exp as much.

I'm looking for FPS with world ranking. No CoD or BBC.

Then I don't think this game is for you. They want to discourage people from playing to boost their own record, and instead encourage and reward people for teamwork.

Whats with all this kids these days, "Ooooh leadboards, I can show off numbers to some guy with less numbers HURR HURR". Things like leaderboards kill games, when I play them I don't give jack[censored] about my leaderboard (Except for StarCraft2, then its important )

It's a shame, I think this game has a potential.

first 9 months of playing CoD4 i didn't even know there was a personal stat tracker and on MMO FPS leader boards are always just, "wow this guy has gotten 19,247,539,275,917,583 and one 1/2 kills...good for you, anyways!" never really paid much attention but if he don't want it for something as simple as a leader board (which he could make his own website containing a Brink K/D leader board) it's his choice let'em be.

I think you'll find that it is only a shame for those that need to constantly be reassured, for the rest of us it's actually rather satisfying to play simply for the good fun in good company.

I hope they don't post player rankings, because despite there being some mature gamers that maintain rank while playing for the team, too many people forgo their teammates and objectives in favor of personal gains.

Really? I think you're missing the point of competition as well as the team dynamic. I'm competing in every game I step into.

Leaderboards create a false competition, your KDR and WLR means nothing when compared to another player's because you aren't playing the same situations. Everything's different. Competition is only true when you go head to head and prove that you're better.

In a team game it comes down to doing what you have to to prove that your team is better, anything other than that round is irrelevant.

You want a tournament board where teams fight it out to the last team standing? Sure, that actually pushes competetive play, but personal leaderboards push personal stat whoring.

Indeed. They even included stopwatch, which is pretty much the only way to test who's the best team in completing objectives.

I'm not talking about KPH, KDR or WLR.

There isn't a personal stat in the world that should place any player above another except "I beat you in a match", and there is no "I" in team, so that stat is pretty much useless too.

If I walk into a game with 7 randoms and we beat a group of 8 other randoms, what's there to rank?

Leaderboards are the past, teamwork is the now, winning is the future. Don't get stuck in the past.

Seriously besides all FPS seem to have their leaderboard hacked. Really what is the point?

This is only true if you happen to be someone like yourself who actually ranks on global leader boards, I don't see why you would want one anyway.
1.If you Ranked 9 on the global leader-boards you probably have skill, and could prove it by playing and not sitting on some leader-board only a handful of the gaming population looks at.
2.Saying that no global leader-boards = no competition is just wrong, as Brink will have no such leader-board and many people have shown in interest in Brink competitively
