That happens way too often in the industry. The last few times I preordered a game, I was waiting on official release while other people are playing the game off the shelf...

Is it REALLY that bad that street date was broken? I mean, yes its bad to the business that did it. But wouldnt this just mean people would try harder to get a copy?

its depressing, one point in time, game company's are just going to just stop shipping them to stores early, pc version would be the new midnight releases, and the day before they would ship it to the stores....

but it does tick me off that these people cant wait 1 week, like really whats the fun of it, i couldn't live with it...

Its bad for the businesses who kept their word and are losing one more customer who chose to get it beforehand. Its bad for the loyal gamers who now have to avoid the net in case of spoilers. Its bad for those who preordered for the same reason, only THEY'VE spent money on something they could have saved if they'd known they weren't going to have to wait. And it's bad for the developers because they're still doing teaser interviews on a game that's alrteady out. It's just a frustrating waste of time and effort for all involved.

I think that the idea of street dates is flawed.
The fact that people get it early enforces this.
If they have it, why shouldn't everyone else in the area be able to get it?

As far as I'm concerned, street dates are marketing BS. Games should ship when they're done, and sell when they arrive, case closed.
