Least Favourite Faction?

Caesar's Legion: For the obvious reasons.

The Boomers: They're a bunch of homicidal maniacs whose ultimate goal is to resurrect a bomber so they can go on killing tribals!

Major Faction: Caesar's Legion for reasons already stated here by others.

Minor Faction: Great Khans because they are drug dealing, self righteous, murdering raiders. Only because they got their butts stomped hard because of their raiding they aren't raiding now.

I didn't choose the BoS because they are to busy hiding in their holes and dying out. Maybe in Fallout 5 there will be a quest to wipe out a bunch of inbred, barely intelligent power armor wearing psychos - would work for Enclave too. Both bloodlines have to be getting strained. Probably already have six toed/fingered, goitered cretins in their midst...well the Enclave probably shoot them at birth.

House and BoS just come out at the bottom.

House simply isn't "enigmatic" enough to keep me interested. The fact that you cannot twist result of his line of quest (not even because he is interfering without you knowing) makes me lose interest to go along with him. NCR is better in this regret which the courier have more control at the flow of events.

By selling chems the Kharns have been doing more good than damage; at least the Fiends are satisfy at getting a fix and die in their vault instead of setting Mojave to flame.

BoS, I love you boys, but hiding in a hole on the ground ain't gooding to solve anything.

Caesar's legion - I do like the way they were built as a faction, even if they always seemed a bit "from another book", but I just really don't like the way they treat women and slaves.
Boomers - Isolated bunch who kill innocents who just were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Not a fan of Brotherhood either, but at least they pretend they're doing the right thing and doing so they harm only themselves. No one will ever know what happened to the Brotherhood after they die out.

I like Kings because they got a neighborhood they are willing to serve and protect.

Caesar's Legion: Too little for a "big" faction for me to like. I tried playing a character who was legion through and through (and was a lady too for the lulz), but it ended up making the game a complete drag, especially when the faction is supposed to be a big player, but it ends up being very small. Not to mention most of the Mojave ended up hating my guts, leaving me very few choices and restricting a lot of areas I can roam. To make things worse, they hardly have any missions and territory! Frankly, siding with NCR, House or Yes Man provided the best opportunity to enjoy the game, as most quests involve the NCR or were not in direct conflict with NCR outside the main quest, not to mention that a huge portion of the game is under NCR control. CL would have been perfect for the Khornanite in me, but they feel completely undeveloped as a real faction, which is why they receive my vote as the least liked major faction.

Great Khans: While being nothing but a bunch of drug pushing thugs, there's too little in them for me to care or like. Everyone else was fine, as they provided fun and engaging quests, with characters I ended up liking. With the Khans..ugh..they needed more! They felt like a waste of space, sitting only above the Powder Gangers, who are completely worthless as a faction.

The NCR. So ineffiecient and pathetic it's laughable. I mean the Legion might be pretty evil, but at least they know what they're doing (I'm Pro House btw).

And I hate the kings too. If only for the [censored] questline I have to go through to get Rex.

NCR. Critically: the NCR of the Mojave Wasteland. I despise corruption in government, something they are rife with but more than that I cannot stand tactically pathetic leaders. The NCR's lovely Oliver is a complete and utter idiot. He is willingly going to kill his men in order to be glorified. He doesn't care about winning well, minimising loss or even increased impact against Caesar's Legion. All he cares about, ALL he cares about is glory. Good way to fail to get any.
If the canon ending lets their nose get bloodied, say we get a House or Yes Man canon ending (or, as close as viable) then maybe I could like them. I like Hsu, I like Hanlon and I even kinda like Moore, despite her failings. But I cannot tolerate them as they are now. My NCR playthrough was the hardest to swallow.

BoS. Just, ugh. Horrible technophiles who'll do anything to keep tech away from others because it's 'dangerous' whilst using it themselves to kill others. Wish they'd just go ahead and die out now. I liked the BoS of FO3 (as people, not necessarily their back story) but these guys, the original BoS can shove it. Power armoured wannabe heroes whose helmets are on too tight.

Did you talk to Caesar yet? And I mean really talked to Caesar, as in did the main quest for them and heard all his dialogue.
You really should side with them before judging them, there's more than meets the eye.

No I haven't, and point taken. I will do it on my next playthrough. Rather than being a standard Legionary thug I think my character will be a mercenary sniper (I've never played a pure sniper before, always preferring assault rifles, shotguns or energy weapons) willing to do Caesar's dirty work so long as the caps are good.

That way I get to do the Legion questline and still hate Caesar at the same time. :)

To the Boomer-haters, try to remember that Pete is about 9 years old, and kids that age think that blowing people up is cool, it's quite normal. As far as the Boomers as a group go, they only shoot at you if you approach Nellis without permission. Nellis is about the only safe place in the wasteland as a result. You might not approve of their style, but I at least understand it.

I don't have any major objection to any of the minor factions there. And as for Caesar, while they are my leasat favorite, I think that they get a bum steer in the game. We never find out much about the Legion's virtues: most likely, a safe, orderly society with very little crime.

I don't hate any major faction, but I never tried Mr. House's story, so it is technically my least favorite.
I just HATE the Great Khans, a bunch of stupid, weak, raiders that don't even know how to spell simulation. They think they are awesome by showing off heads of animals, well guess what! I put their heads on a stick and show off to their dirty leader called "Papa Khan". Then I kill their dirty leader and slice all of his limbs off and put him in the corner, gnawing on his legs.

Major Faction: I don't really like any of the major factions, hence I pick Yes Man on almost every single playthrough, however NCR is my least favorite. A bunch of greedy land grabbers who have a giant army that can't support the citizens it's sworn to protect. Least favorite minor faction is probably BoS. I haven't liked them in any of the fallout games, and I think they are just a bunch of fanatics hooked on technology. Don't get me wrong, their power armor is badass. Dammit why couldn't the Enclave have a bigger appearance in this game?! Die NCR die

Hmm, no crime other than the crimes that they commit themselves?

I know, I know, I should play the main Legion questline before judging. And I will. I still think that I'll find it hard to like a tribalistic faction, with mindless warriors that do not think for themselves, enslave innocents, the way they treat women, and destroy other societies to assimilate them as their own. I simply don't think that it's possible to put a positive spin on this.

Brotherhood only because I don't like how we have to once again go crawling to them for PA training.

Arcade Gannon can do that to if you gain his trust.

On-topic: I realize Fallout has little in the ways of 'good guys' and 'bad guys'. Just poor, bad, worse, terrible, and evil.

Well, one thing to remember with Legion is that they are in battle mode, and while NCR is also in battle mode they are at least on diplomatic terms with New Vegas and have trading going on as well as assimilating profitable settlements.
So for example, in Nelson there are poles with NCR troopers heads on them, it's not a pretty sight, sure, but can we honestly expect a civilized Legion town to look like that?
I mean, if I lived in a Legion town I'd know that if I [censored], steal, murder, sell/use drugs or other stuff then my head might get chopped off or I might be crucified.
So, I won't do any of that and behave.
I think their citizens are fully aware of the law and punishment in Legion's culture and abide by their laws.
Point is, we see a lot of brutality going down in New Vegas from Legion, but in a civilized Legion town, could we actually find this?
Haven't they crucified/killed/enslaved the faulty people already a long time ago?
While we can expect a city/town in Arizona to be more strict I think we can also expect far less brutality on their end.

I'm not sure of the consistency of this reasoning. I do not think that the formation of a civilised society is justified when it requires committing the most uncivilised acts towards humanity. And all this to create a culture that perpetuates slavery and brutal tribalism solely in the interests of conquest.

This is just a view, of course. I'm convinced that no factions in New Vegas has the answer, all are flawed to some degree. NCR is at least founded on basic individual freedom and protection of it's citizens, whereas the Legion is founded on oppression and fear.

Legion is definitely my least favorite faction, for reasons that have already been stated multiple times in this thread.

I don't dislike any minor faction really, but I guess the great Khans are my least favorite out of all of them.

Hate the ncr. Would love in a future game if instead of their continuous expansion, the people could unite and rise up to take down the corrupted beurocrats.... But I digress.
I don't really hate any minor factions. But the boomers would be my least favorite. If I was forced to pick at gunpoint :D

I dislike the Yes Man "faction" the most, though that's due to me liking the others more.
As for side factions I voted The Remnants because (embarrassingly) I have yet to come across them, so screw those secretive bastards

Yeah...if you don't do your quest-line you wouldn't learn they condone cannibalism and practice human sacrifice. As stupid, vicious, and corrupt as the NCR's leadership is, they're light years better than the sick crew of perverts calling itself "Caesar's Legion". Putting a bullet into Caesar and Lanius's brainpan to accelerate the Legion's inevitable failure is a service to humanity. Using slavery and extreme terror tactics as social engineering tools to create a artificial culture....which is what Caesar is trying to do...has fail written all over it.

If you relace every "Caesar" and "legion" in there to NCR then you have the Legions view right there.

The only person I really hate in all of this game is Mr. House.

I picked the BoS because I had to pick something in the minors, but all it means is that I just don't happen to like them as much as I like the other minors.

If we look at the historical anolog, the Romans, despite their brutal punishments people continued to commit crimes, and individuals in the Fallout universe are likely to be much more self-sufficient and hardened (i.e. willing to take the risks) than your average ancient Roman citizen. So yes, I think we can expect that there will be a fair amount of incidences of brutality back East. Crime never has been and never will be fully eradicated, no matter how harsh the consequences; desperate people do desperate things.

Even if there weren't incidents back East, however, that means they achieved "peace" via unjust murder and terror tactics, which is hardly a ringing endorsemant. Keeping the populace in constant fear for their lives isn't exactly a great thing.

If you relace every "Caesar" and "legion" in there to NCR then you have the Legions view right there.

Except for the whole cannibalism and human sacrifice angle. :P

Minor: BoS.

I also want to point out that Mr. House and Yes Man are not factions.
