[REQz]Leather Jacket armor

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 5:56 am

Ok, so I've been looking for an armor on FO3 nexus and NV nexus that include the trusty old leather jacket. I've yet to find something I'm happy with though, and if I had the knowhow I'd do this myself in a heartbeat.
What I'm after is basically this: The Merc Grunt outfit, with the Kings leather jacket (logo removed) on top, then the belt from the leather armor (With the pouches and so on) to go with the Grunt outfits pants. The reason I'm requesting the King's Jacket is that it doesn't have a vault suit underneath it.

I think that'd make a great looking makeshift wasteland armor, and I'm hoping more people think the same way. I can place it in the game myself if I had a mesh, making that mesh is the problem. So I'm not going to beg and plead for this, but if anyone thinks this a cool idea and wants to fix it up, I would absolutely love that, and I'm sure others would to.

EDIT: Oh yeah, got two more ideas. Going to list it all for a more tidy structure.

-Merc Grunt outfit.
-Leather armor belt with pouches.
-Kings Leather Jacket (No logo).
-Leather armor metal armguard.
-Knife on boot or lower leg?

Do you mean something like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/sesom_07/5136232347/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/sesom_07/5136835130/.

These are pics from my slavery extension (FNNCQ2) for NV.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm talking about, that looks awesome. Any chance of a version without shoulderpads and with the leather armor belt with the pouches on it?

By the way, I assume that just uses the Merc Grunt textures for that part, so if I was to use a texture replacer for the grunt outfit it would apply to this one as well?

The shoulder pads are removeable no problem. It is designed as a armor where you can buy addons for. Pouches, Upper Body Protection and Lower Body Protection. Similar to Kikais equipment but these addons change the stats of the armor. So a simple Leather Jacket is normal clothing full armored can bring it up to combat armor level.

The pant and shirt texture is from the grunt outfit so a texture replacer should work. I haven't made the scripts yet for NV (FO3 is already done) for the armor parts but they should be ready soon.

Awesome, looking forward to the release then :) That armor looks brilliant.

I'm thinking of bringing Tailor Maid over to NV if I can get permission, if someone else does it then I won't mind since it'll take a really, really long time, but that mod in tandem with this one will be a dream come true.

To avoid the clipping problem I didn't go the Tailor Maid route. I made several male base bodys (slave, slaver, mystery faction ;) main player in the FNNCQ2 questline) and 'tailored' addons specific for them which will only work with these bases (and similar bodys). In the pics you can see one of the slaver variants.

It does indeed look awesome. Count me in for the "looking forward to it". :)

Yeah I figured as much, but if someone or I brought Tailor Made over to NV then using it in tandem with your mod could have very cool results, with a bit of trial and error. Even without it though, the jacket looks awesome. I think I might stick to the mostly unarmored one, focus on pouches and stuff like that rather than heavy armor. I'm trying to make a character that looks like a regular guy just trying to survive, rather than some super badass god among men wearing full power armor, wielding a plasma cannon and shooting laserbeams from his eyes.

Ok, ok... I start with the shopping feature for the NV version of FNNCQ2 as first release. So that some of my 'new' armors (actualy they are all reworked original Bethesda ones) & some other little surprises can be bought.

I don't include the new slavery functions and the quest. Both I am still working on. It's a big project with a new faction which has fun in Vegas so it will take his time befor it is complete.

@Urge
My main idea was the same and if a Deathclaw makes a visit I put on my armor addons if I have earned them (they are not cheap) to survive this beast.

That sounds good.
