[WIP] Leatherdress by Jun Tsukasa

Post » Fri Apr 01, 2011 2:29 pm

Hi everybody. Since longer time I'm thinking about building this dress.

http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=bab24catsukasabul.jpg http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=3e5f09btsukasabul.jpg

It does not really fit to Oblivion, however, it fits to FO3. This becomes my first work for fallout... And this is what it looks like till present:

http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=be7fd585tsukasa01.jpg http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=655c4788tsukasa02.jpg http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=352f1ae6tsukasa03.jpg http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=6d3245fdtsukasa04.jpg http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=cf30407btsukasa05.jpg

Of course there are some things missing, as for example the magazine pockets hanging at the belt.

Funny, I thought it fit Oblivion more than Fallout.... Oblivion at least has magic to potentially protect all those holes.

Looks alright, though I can't think of any sane person who'd go into a gunfight that scantily clad. Just sort of seems like another one of those mods for people to get their rocks off while playing a game.

Except by that logic, who would go into combat wearing street clothes, which is basically everything that isn't combat armor or power armor? You can't really use that argument when you have items like http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Merc_Grunt_Outfit and http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Brahmin-Skin_Outfit and all the other ones like them that people fight in all the time.

Both of those provide more in the line of protection than an assless leather suit that only barely covers the briasts in the front and nothing else. The brahmin skin outfit is just regular street clothes that people tend to wear in the game when they're not expecting to get into regular gunfights. And the Merc outfit covers the entire torso with extra padding with bits sewn in for added protection. The most armor in the OP's suit is above the shoulders, which I'm fairly certain protects nothing unless your character has one seriously deformed body.

Anyway, I guess I could see it as something for hokers to wear and the odd female raider considering they're meant to be insane.

Except you do realize that leather and "padding" wont stop a bullet, right? A leather jacket versus being bareass naked is roughly the same against anything but the smallest least damaging of projectiles(I've seen pellet guns shoot through double-lined leather jackets).

Uh, many opponents use melee. :P And aside from bullets, you could be chasing someone through the wasteland and get sliced by a rusty car, or dead branches, or the claws of an animal. Tetanus and rabies are good reasons to keep skin covered ;)

Not sure this is really adding anything productive to the thread. Sounds more to me like you just want to gripe over the decision of others to dress their chars in clothing that shows off "too much" skin.

A phrase springs to mind here:

"It's only a game"

Guy's, c'mon.
Don't turn this thread into a huge argument on whats appropriate in combat.
arynn is just trying to share her work and get feedback on how it looks and what needs work.
if you guys want to continue this argument, it would be wise to use the pm system or start a thread in the Fallout 3 General Section.

Obviously it wouldn't stop a bullet, I'm just fielding a guess here, but I'd assume anything extra between your body and a bullet would help to slow it down a bit and lessen the impact/penetration, even if it is to a marginal degree.

And like pintocat mentioned, leather clothing and padding would help in a melee fight.

Yeah I know it's only a game, and people are free to make mods however they like and play however they like, same as I'm free to get a little creeped out by people making "armor" that's just a hair away from a nvde mod.

Sometimes people need to keep their mouths shut though. Thats why so many modders leave the community! So please, just remember youre not forced to download it and walk away. <_<

Except why would they need to waste the time on making an outfit that is close to a nvde mod when nvde mods exist? Maybe the OP just wants some outfits with style instead of the drab things we have in game?

Not really, I'll concede the point about melee, a leather jacket would be much better than nekkid, but the point on firearms and having a little bit of clothes protect you is like trying to use a lifejacket while standing in an open field to survive a hurricane; it could save you, but the odds are you'll die before that happens.

J3X's guide to why scantily female armors > not scantily female armors (- power armors):
1. Distraction. Try to have a steady aim while looking at some boobies, it's fricking impossible!
2. You don't want to destroy something that's beautiful....
3. Magic protective force field.

Nuff said.

So we're only allowed to comment on something if we like it? Oh I see, silly me thinking this was a discussion forum or something. If the modder can't handle people not liking something they do, they should probably avoid the internet altogether.

ANYway... arynn: From a technical and design standpoint, it's a well modelled and textured suit despite any misgivings or opinions I might have. Any chance of an alternate version that's a bit more covered up/armored? For example, maybe a buttoned on cover on the front and a longer skirt/something covering the rear end?

Sorry folks, but wtf has this got to do with the quality of my work? If you don't like it, don't download it.
How much protection does a cullender give your char? When you wear a raiders outfit, the "protection" is as less as in my outfit.
You cannot compare this with things happening in real life. But this is not the point. It is just too sixy for some people.

I should have known better and not post it. There are many other forums where discussions are just about the work and nothing else.

So, could a moderator please close this threat? I do not want to discuss about things that are far away from fun.
But: I will also build panties for those who think it is much more natural looking at exploding heads than at a nice naked ass.

And: I never said it was an armour.

This is the sort of stuff that creeps me out a bit, I have no problem looking at a naked butt in real life, or looking at sixy stuff in real life. It's just that the whole concept of people going to video games for that stuff instead of human interaction is unsettling. Violence in games make more sense because it's not really socially acceptable to play action hero with guns blazing in real life.

Holy crap dude, do you ever stop? You do realize that enjoying the female form goes well beyond real life? Just because it isn't real doesn't mean it can't be aesthetically pleasing.

Also, to the OP. I am sorry for derailing your topic, but as soon as you release this I will be downloading it because that is an awesome looking outfit. Any plans to make more outfits?
