Leave Tops Casino, not getting back correct weapons

Post » Mon Aug 02, 2010 2:30 pm

So I go into the Tops Casino. They take my weapons, I won't say why as it's a bit of a spoiler.

So I expect, stupidly, that if I leave the casino I will get my weapons back. Nope.

I get 3/4 of them back. I try again with a quick save and I get the correct amount of weapons back but they are the wrong ones.

I remove all of my inventory and try again. Correct amount, completely different weapons.

An absent minded game? Did the code forget to take it's Alzheimer's medicine?

I've been wondering about this too. I had to save and retry about four times before it gave me back the weapons I actually *cared* about.

Same here. I found this one on the first trip to Vegas. Just really wanted to see Vegas so headed for it asap out of the Dr. house, after I killed the store guy
Spoiler
only thing that almost killed me was deathclaws which ate some miners/diggers/construction guys, someone in a yellow hard hat
. Ran all the way to Vegas right after the Dr so I could see what it was about
Spoiler
smaller than I thought, I was thinking at least 2x as big as New Reno... unless I'm missing something it is much smaller
. Had to load a bunch of times to get out with my 10mm weathered pistol.

Wow those casinos need to have a better organized weapon check-in system. Too bad the wrong guns you got wasn't from an undercover BOS guy's check-in box.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I've been in and ouit of casino's a lot the past 2 days and
didn't bother looking for this issue.

I'll pay more attention now. Might be rough though I tend to wander around drunk after losing
at the black jack table.

I had the same issue with the Tops Casino. All the other casinos confiscate weapons and give back the correct ones every time.

When sometimes when I would leave the Tops, I wouldn't get ANY weapons back.

I finally gave up after many reloads and just kept playing anyway. Sometime later, I noticed that all my weapons that had been confiscated were back in my inventory. So something is definitely bugged with the Tops.

Of course, now I leave nothing to chance. Whenever I enter a casino, I steal all my weapons back before I leave to be sure I get them.

And is anyone else annoyed at the messages in the top left corner whenever something is added back to your inventory? I have so much stuff now that the messages go on and on for nearly 2 minutes with attendant sound effects. Can't they just say "You got your stuff back" and be done with it?

LoL. yeah, very annoying.

I remember noticing the other day when zoning in and out of the casinos that weapons took a while to actually show up. There is a definate delay. Sometimes
I'd have the pipboy opened to look at weapons after leaving so I could reapply keybindings and would notice only one or two of my weapons were there.
I'd close the pipboy and would have to wait a minute (well it seemed that long) then reopen and then all would be listed.
It's like some slow ass cache is trickling into the pipboy display.

Back to annoying, I find it annoying as hell that I have to rebind all my weapon layouts. Almost makes me hate going into casinos.
After reading this thread now I'm AFRAID of entering casinos. Rawr.

lmao this bug was shown in a video being played by the devs at some game convention, they saw it first hand themselves and still haven't fixed it.

That's the Devs for you, they've really dropped the ball on this game. If I were the company owner, I'd be looking at bringing some better talent in and laying off the ones responsible for some of the shockingly obvious bugs. If I made as many mistakes in my job as these guys have done, people would die, simple as.

lol moron, HIIINT: its mostly never the developers themselfs that are to blame - its the MANAGERS - they make stupid decisions that the developers have to work on, the developers have a roadmap that a bugfree game will take X time - but the smart manager/publisher
comes and says - NOOO we must finish it in X-1000000000000 time

dont ever blame the developers, its ALWAYS the stupid morons which are called managers or publishers

Just do what I do, only carry weapons you don't care about on the strip. I walked into one casino with my usuall assortment of mayhem implements and it takes so long for things to get put back in that I just stopped carrying all my fun weapons.

As for the bug, these things are being noted and will hopefully be addressed soon.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to take CCNA's advice. I was just gonna head there today, i've been avoiding it and explored almost the rest of the map.

At least you get some guns back. The last game I played that took away your gear was the Dragon Age Origins xpac, and I ended up fighting two dragons butt naked with a rusty sword i found because I never got any of my gear back due to a bug, which I think still exists in the current version of it. Plz stop making areas that take away gear unless you make sure it works.

Oh and how does it affect companions? If I give everything to my packmule robot is it safe?
