Is it legal to edit BSA's, Nif's etc and use it in modding?

Let's assume that I'll unpack some Bethesda's archives (that I've got with "TES V: Skyrim"), edit NIF's, DDS's etc. Then pack it again in archives, include in my mods for Skyrim, upload my mods to some site (where anybody can download it with my mods).

QUESTIONS:

Is it a violation of some laws or Bethesda's EULA if:

1) I'll do it just for my PERSONAL fun (NO uploads to any sites).

2) I WILL upload my mods with modified Bethesda's content to any sites.

3) Somehow I'll earn MONEY with help of my mods for Bethesda's games.

I need separated answers for 1, 2 and 3.

It's question of my conscience. Not of business or something else.

1) Personal use is personal. You can do whatever you want. After all if it's personal, who will even know.

2) Bethesda has always allowed making changes to their content as long as the mod you distribute requires the game it came from. That includes the DLCs so if you use a resource from Dragonborn your mod should depend on Dragonborn.esm as a master. You can't modify content from one game and use it in another.

3) Selling mods is one thing Bethesda really doesn't like. The closest you can get is the Donate button scheme on NexusMods. But even there the rules explicitly state you can't actually ask for money. You can enable the button but not comment that you would like people to use it.

1. You can modify the game assets for personal use - that is what modding is. :)

2. You can modify the game assets and upload mods to modding sites.

3. You cannot charge or make money on mods.
