Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

At one point someone said that they had removed all the towns and cities from the E3 version. So there are some there but it implies there are massive spoilers to do with them.

I know, imagine being able to rock climb up the mountains in Skyrim and then jump off and handglide, whilst shooting arrows.

Oh, didn't know that.

Or snowboard down a mountain on your shield.... or have Spears and throw them.

Oh me too! Strangely enough I have fond memories of being confounded by that dungeon! Once I figured out what I was doing wrong I had a good laugh . [censored] I'd be happy with just having spears that actually function as spears. So many weapons to play with! Barbarian Link seems a totally viable playstyle in this game!

It would be silly of me to get a Wii-U just for this. Heck, I never even got a Wii, still have a Gamecube. Wind Waker HD is the only other game that would encourage me to get a new system. It's like with how my Xbox 360 still runs great, and I have lots of games with high replay value and also ones I still need to beat, so I've never had a reason to buy an XB1, which I would only get just for the Master Chief Collection. But the XB1 is so HUGE that I would want to wait for the slim to come out...and go down in price as well. PS4 is my newest console, and I'm glad I got it.

But, darn. Wii-U for Breath of the Wild and Wind Waker HD... Wish it could play Gamecube games, since mine is getting old. :(

Any idea how much a Wii-U usually costs these days?

Darn. Ah well, I am used to waiting a while to get what I want. Sure, I spent about $340 on my PS4 last November, but I took advantage of still having Amazon Prime from my student account (it expired yesterday after four years), and it was the version that came with the digital copy of Star Wars Battlefront in addition to four other free, full older SW games. So, even though I know the new Battlefront is [censored], I felt I got my money's worth, getting five free games. Also have bought several new games used for good discounts. Even when I bought my 3DS, I got it when a sale was going on at Best Buy, so buying it and Ocarina of Time 3D together came up to be the same price as just the 3DS before the sale.

I'd argue that Ocarina is worth the price of admission for the 3DS. One of my top 3 favorite games of all time.

Definitely. So far, the only 3DS games I have are Ocarina, Majora (still need to actually play it, my brother got it for me as a birthday gift), Pokemon OmegaRuby, and Super Smash Bros. But I find that I am mostly playing my copy of Pokemon Diamon and SoulSilver on it right now. Still have a DS Lite and GBA in case I want to play other generations of games.

When I had my Wii I remember you could download games from Nintendo and Sega consoles from a "Nintendo Store". They still have that?

Also, speaking of older consoles, are we allowed to discuss emulators for PCs here?

No.

And yeah, many games from older consoles are emulated on WiiU or 3DS and available in eShop.

We could almost use a NX speculation thread.

The most info we have on it are an alleged leak of the controller online (really funky, btw) as well as connections between the latest delay in BoW and the NX release.

Nintendo delayed BoW to investigate "new possibilities" for the game. Because it will be released for the NX, this could mean they delayed it to both "improve the quality" of BoW as well as possibly implement new tech for the game in accordance with the NX's hardware, just as TP got some fancy new motion enhancements for the Wii release (sword swinging and pointing the remote, to be specific... ??.)

Due to the latest craze in VR and Nintendo's proclivities for new trends (see: gimmicks,) I believe they'll be looking into this for BoW. But it 'is' Nintendo. We've been surprised before.

Still... touch screens, motion control, body recognition, 3D... Every trend that's hit the market has been at least taste-tested by these guys. And they haven't touched VR yet.

Edit:

I know what you're thinking. The Virtual Boy does 'not' count. :P

Honestly, I think the one from Majora's mask was worse. And by that temple I mean the rage inducing end game water level. >_>

You know, as much as I love Ocarina, I've never played Majora's.

Blasphemy! :P

Kidding.

If you ever do pick up MM (it's out on the 3DS), you'll probably see what I mean.

On that note, I hope the water dungeon in LOZ:BOW isn't like either of those found in OOT or MM.
