LegendariesCompanionsSettlers Question

Do settlers & companions benefit from all damage bonus legendaries? Or just some? Obviously the VATS legendaries wont be beneficial to companions/settlers, but do settlers/companions benefit from stuff like freezing/wounding/irritated etc legendaries?

Well legendary weapons do still work in the hands of companions, but I cant say much for legendary armor.

I have some companions using legendary melee weapons and it seems the bonus works. Invisible armor thing also works sometimes on companions. I don't pay any attention anymore for the companions since they are pretty useless in combat.

I do wish Companions could/would use the jetpacks on the Power Armor I give them.

I gave Piper a chest plate of legendary leather armor that increased stealth by a % (25?) when standing still. On my character, it appeared that I was using a stealth boy, in that I was only partly visible. It had that effect on her when I first gave it to her, but not since then. Don't know if it actually works or not. I give her legendary weapons that have been modded out but I no longer use (not the Vats enhanced ones, obviously), but I have no way of knowing if the affects of the weapons (ie: increased limb damage 25%, ect) actually apply to her using the weapon. It would be nice to know if they did.

Hmm. I recently got a spare wounding gun and was wondering if a companion would benefit from it.

I think a good test would be to equip a companion with an obvious effect weapon, something like Plasma-Infused or Explosive.

I like to give companions armor pcs with Strength on them. It does increase their inventory cap. So I would say all legendary bonus work on them, but like you said, the VATS one while it prolly is active but does nothing since they don't use VATS.

So in practical terms, bonus that increase damage, or SPECIAL stats would be viable.

Bleeding works, I've seen HP drain on enemies.

The plasma infused, explosive, and fire weapon visual effects definitely work with companions. Also always funny to see Cait with the 2076 bat, that works too. Not sure of a lot of the other effects though.

Also Preston doesn't use the automatic laser musket for some reason. it might be none of the companions use that weapon.

Things like freezing, poisoning, two shot, and other legendary perks that are designed to increase damage or add new damage types work. I've never seen a reason to think that legendary perks that buff SPECIAL stats and increase sneak ability and such affect companions/settlers though.

all legendary weapon effects work other than infinite ammo legendary weapons, which are the ones i want to give to my companions instead of having them burn through my ammo.

the chameleon armor works for companions for the stealth ability, as well as stat increases like +1 strength/endurance...and it seems like the bolstering armor works as well.
