Hi, Im trying to play on Legendary but I have been dying a lot and had to switch it to master once to kill off 3 Mercenaries in Goldenglow Estate. Im Level 35 now and almost Level 36. Im a Battle Mage, I focus on Magic, mostly Conjuration/Alteration and Destruction along with a focus on one handed weapons but I often use my shield if Im out of magic or the enemy gets to close.

These Mercenaries guarding Goldenglow are brutal on Legendary and they kill me quickly if I don't keep running away from them and healing. I used this strategy along with Summoning my Flame Women or Summoning the Fat Ice guy with my staff and eventually killed them all.

Still, Legendary is very difficult and I am fighting the Last Mercenary in Goldenglow Estate right now. I just set it to Novice and have my Shield up constantly so my block skill gets better, it is at 51 now doing this and I turned level 35 recently, blocking alone with this guy hitting my shield has made me level 36 almost.

I have not used 1 block perk yet so should I keep doing this or forget about it? My block skill keeps getting stronger with this guy hitting me. What skill should I get it up to so I will be more effective with fighting strong melee oriented NPC's on Legendary? I usually have to get my shield out after using my magic against a strong melee enemy who is rushing towards me, using destruction magic at point blank range is not effective at all, it is better to use a shield and sword at that range.

Any suggestions?
