Legendary Iron Armor?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 7:31 pm

Im at level 46 with fully enchanted legendary daedric armor, but i honestly like the way iron looks better, and i would like to upgrade a set, but even with 100 smithing and all perks but glass and dragon i cant make iron armor "legendary". do i need all the smithing perks? or do i need a fortify enchanting effect of a certain strength?

Most other armor sans leather, fur and iron benefit from the smithing perks i.e. "can smith x and improve it twice as much". Iron has no such perk and so can't as far as I know be upgraded to legendary without abuse of the alchemy/enchanting/smithing loop.

I wish I could carry the Imperial Legion armour for the entire game. But it gets redundant. It looks beast on my Argonian.

According to UESP, you would need to fortify smithing to an effective level of 168 to get a non perk type of armor to legendary.

you can, if you play 1h + shield.... just make it legendary.

i play with the steelplate armor smithed up to legendary. lvl 41, no problems. i'm playing on adept in the moment, but get the feeling to switch up to expert, because even with the steelplate it's pretty easy.
