Legendary skills advice seeker.

Hello. I have a level 48 character, and although I still have a good few skills that I frequently use to raise my level, I think near level 60ish I'll plateau, and I'll know that something will have to give. I'll have to make one of my precious skills legendary, and I come here seeking advice as to which skill/skills that should be.

I know smithing and enchanting are ones that are usually recommended but here's my explanation for those two:

Smithing - I wasted a lot of perks here. Really, I should've only wasted 4, as dragon smithing is the only one I really want since Dragon armor is so rare and I like to keep my Dragon armor legendary. But in the time it would take me to get my smithing back to 100 I would not have access to any Dragonbone arrows, Daedric arrows, or any armor I'd like to improve. That's a long time to be using crummy old elven arrows (yes, I've been spoiled).

Enchanting - in the time I spend raising it back up I would not be able to enchant any items. I suppose I could just make all the stuff I need and horde it, make it legendary, and see how it goes.

So basically any advice would be appreciated, I do want to keep levelling and get some wasted perks back, but it's so hard to choose which skill to legendarize

Spoiler
if you complete the dragonborn dlc you can relocate perk points without reseting the skill.

reseting smithing and enchanting sounds tedious, I would never do it unless I used the restoration glitch to lvl up smithing again.

The best skills for just lvlin up would probably be illusion and alteration with enchanted gear to receive 0% magic cost, not sure if you use those skills

You get the perks back, so if you have invested 8 perks in Smithing, yet you only need 4, then when you leg it up, you will end up with those 8 back, to be used. then just spend the 4 you need and use the rest somewhere else.

By level 60, you should have a ton of Dwarven Ingots and Ebony Ingots put away. so getting back to 100 shouldn't be a real bummer.

The same for Enchanting. I forget how many soul gems it takes to get to 100. For some reason 380 stands out. It may be a little more or less.

However, I would still bank some gear before I made the move.

Then there is Speech, but it can take a while to get to 100 to start with, not that one really uses that skill other than selling loot. Oh... and Alchemy is another cat can work as well for both Alchemy and Speech, as the potions created can be sold for big skill gains.

I did pickpocket. It can go pretty fast, and it's a skill you can probably live without.
