Destruction, spellmaking, too Nord-focused whatever... if I could have one change it would be to be able to edit your character after seeing him/her in game.

You can if you're on PC.

showracemenu

Just don't use it after levelling up or it will auto-balance your magicka, health, and stamina so they are even.

Only if you changed the six and race.

I've got the perfect workaround! Make a save just as you're getting off the cart at the beginning of the game.

I'm not sure what the post has to do with the title of the thread though....

It autosaves after getting off the cart... the problem is the next 10 minutes.

Reload the save? I might not be understanding what the problem is...

The problem is when you are creating a character it may not look exactly how you want him/her to in game. Major issues being hair, weight, and skin tone. You can't actually see your character until after watching the beheading and then running through the intro. Just wish there was a "are you sure this is whom you want to be" like in Oblivion.

So I'm guessing you aren't on PC since your ignoring the showracemenu command?

What I think I'm going to do is make a save right after the intro when you leave the tutorial, one for each depending on who you followed, then any time I want to make a new character I can reload the corresponding save (depending on who that character would have followed) and use showracemenu to create the new character. There shouldn't be any issues seeing as I most likely haven't leveled during the tutorial. (;
