Legion assassin build

Post » Tue Dec 15, 2009 6:12 pm

In the near future, I plan on roleplaying a Legion character. That is, I am going to try to use no drugs, stimpacks etc... (that may be difficult, but I will try), use their armor unless I need a disguise etc....

Anyway, I am uncertain on the build. I think that for my skills, I will have survival, sneak and either melee weapons or unarmed. I would like feedback on whether I should use melee weapons or unarmed (I will max out guns once I max out my first three).

I am pretty certain that I will take the kamikaze and small frame traits, but if you think that there is a better combination, please say so.

And for the SPECIAL, I think I will use the following: S8, P5, E8 C2, I6, A6, L5 (note that I did not factor in the +1 agility from the small frame trait).

Ok how to do this is very delicate. You first make the build. Then you go jump off the cliff with your Legion assassin build it works out perfect.

I would go for melee. More melee weapons in the early game and it doesn't seem very assassin-y to just use your hands. Gotta have a knife or something!

Honestly, the legionary assassins aren't all that sneaky. I only said assassin because I plan to use stealth often. But I think I will go with melee.

Melee works good, and you can get some nice Cattle Prods if you head over to the Strip early, or work your way towards a Sledgehammer and you should be good to go. If you plan on not using any stims, I'd recommend staying away from hardcoe. When you are high level, get the Super Sledge and you will be unstoppable. I tried making a legion assassin guy too but he turned into a energy weapon behemoth :(

It should be fine

Creating a doctors bag doesn't involve any chems and it's mostly just medical equipment

I agree, a doctor's bag would be fine. Only thing he would use are healing powders and food (so up the survival). However, in an extremely bad situation he would use stims if they were where he is and he had nothing else. The mission would be first. "The old world was bad, their evil technology brought about atomic devastation, and we will not let that happen again. However, we will dump atomic waste to kill a town because we are too weak to take it by force."

why would they waste soldiers on retaking the town (which they can) if they can just dump atomic waste there without losing a single soldier?

My advice is TAKE THE MISTER SANDMAN perk preferably before the NCR want to rip your balls off so you can weaken their forces by slicing the rangers necks at the ranger stations and Camp Golf

You can just disguise in and do it when they hate you, although those dogs see right passed it

definitely this.

I did that one quest for the first time last week...

Spoiler

We Are Legion, in which you have to kill the 4 NCR officers at Forlorn Hope. Sandman made killing the first three a piece of cake. The last one, Reyes, doesn't sleep so I just put a live stick of dynamite in her pocket and BAM! Just walked right outta there like nothing happened. :disguise:

It looks good. The only thing you may want to look at is P and/or A. As you are going with a melee build, neither are that important. You could drop one or both by 1 and add it to S, E, or L. However, you don't need to.

I like having at least 5 perception. If I do take the one from agility, should I also not take the small frame trait?

Taking the small frame trait is fine. It will give you that extra point of A without using up your points for special. I also understand wanting minimums in certain traits. I don't min/max. I have a design for each character. I don't consider any trait a dump trait. Unless my character is really ugly or an absolute bastard, the charisma will be at least a 4. And a character that is an absolute bastard will not have the Good Natured perk.

I highly recommend you up your Unarmed to 90 so you can get the Slayer perk, IMO the most useful perk for melee weapons.

I might up unarmed after I max out the aforementioned 3 skills and guns.
